Depends on how long the critter is. When Globe built their Ottawa building, they are said to have used MARTINIS for rebar.
At that time, Martinis were selling, retail, for about $15. But when you have 10,000 of them that you got for peanuts and the market is finite and real rebar costs MONEY.... well, you can always destroy a few thousand.... keeps the available quantity down... keeps the prices up.... do it the right way and you make more MONEY from selling a dozen than you do from selling a hundred.... pure economics.
B^%%%$$#s!
Give some of these clowns half a chance and they would buy the last 12 Spencers in the world... and then torch 8 of them to keep the prices up on the remaining 4!
Honest business is one thing, plain stinking greed is something else. Some people can't be bothered sorting out the difference.
Think on this one for a minute.... If I were to GIVE 3,000 in-the-white Number 4 barrels and a like number of Number 1 barrels, to your favourite Dealer..... how much do you think your favourite Dealer would try to sell them to YOU for? Remember: he knows that HE has them ALL.
Ethics on one side, Marketing 130 on the other side, but some folks like to look at themselves in a mirror without barfing. So where does it get us?
You make up YOUR mind. I already KNOW what's right.... which is why I will never be rich.
