It's tough living in the North!

Yeh... that makes the winter worth while ;) At least the bugs are gone when it is -30, in fact it is only -25 right now which is almost warm here.

Even when it's cold, it's beautiful!

Agreed, from a couple weeks ago we hit a low of -37 one morning, and gorgeous out. You'll never see clearer air than a crisp calm -40 morning, it takes your breath away and not from just the cold. :) Second pic is midwinter early evening.

The latest braided egg loaf comin' out of the oven..

just in time for Phil....

and his lovely bear-hunting wife to join us for surf and turf dinner.

Everything on the table came from our garden, the water, or the bush; caribou backstrap, honey-glazed broiled salmon steaks, potatoes, cauliflower, peas, and coleslaw. Well, the apples in the slaw are from BC, and the cheese as well, but you get the idea.

Love this thread Ted!
Up your game and get a few chickens for the eggs, theyre easy to take care of and very happy animals, and they'll provide you with much richer and tastier eggs

Thanks Bud,

Did okay. The picture is not the best, camera on hood of truck, but you get the idea.

Ended up going out alone. Very windy, so tucked into a little bay where I have never fished before, and iced ten nice Poor Man's Lobster in less than two hours.
