We had ours done in corn meal the night before last.

Great thread. My wife and I have had serious talks about taking advantage of her U.S citizenship and moving to Alaska but with places like these why leave the country?

Only had a small bear come to the meadow this morning and it got chased away by a bull elk... heading out again tomorrow.

Edit Day 2; nothing but a sow with three Cubs this morning... will give it a more serious go on Saturday.

The last of the garden veggies. Fixed them up for supper with half a backbone from a lake trout I caught last Thursday .

Visited friends of ours today for hamburgers. Not sure what kind of meat they were, but they were Delicious!

Then she brought out the Mother's Day dessert.

So far it has been. Hide squared at 5'5". Have yet to see a Yukon BB top 6'

I've seen a few bigger black bears here over 6', down the Yukon river and on the Stewart river. Not that any Yukon BB will be considered huge. they all seem to make great sausage, not sure why most people shy away from bear meat as its usually great
