ah ah ... i did not shot any and we left i will say 9/10 of what we saw ... the secret is waking up early ... few guys we met later were not happy seeing us ... the dog is a big bonus and she did an amazing job.

We have grouse down south as well.
Potted two this morning on a glorious walk with the pointer with the leaves in full bloom .......... +14 today.

Yes, but it’s tough when we have to hunt grouse instead of ptarmigan.

indeed.
I would be concerned if it was 24 in the mountains in October. 13 here today. O degrees at elevation when a system blew through. Wouldn't change a thing!+24 here
it will depend on the diet and time of the year you hunt them. now they are still eating berries and will a great time on the table later with only the snow and few stuff to eat a little less tasty. sorry not Ted to answer.
apples, cranberries, red wine all mixed together will make it a great meal: trust me on that.
