I've wanted one of these for years, but could never justify the cost...

But I gave in to temptation, thanks to Guy at Wolverine Supplies. She was expensive, but it will complete my collection. I can't figure out if she belongs under Hunting and Sporting Arms or Shotguns :D Either way, she'll get some good use!

Nice! ...... I'd have the choke opened up to IC. Be a perfect grouse and big game combo then. You could shoot steel from that IC and use it for ducks.

Improved Modified will be ideal for slightly longer ranges, and certainly adequate for most game. However, I will likely not be using this gun for fowl (possible exception would be turkey). And, this is one gun that will not see any gunsmith for custom work. ;)

I have a Remington 870 express with three barrel options and 2 additional chokes (modified, turkey) that extend my options for fowl, as well as a scoped rifled barrel for deer, and a small 20 inch barrel with a full choke for turkey.

Wonderful choice, congratulations! I do wonder about your stipulation about not wanting Euro chamberings, however. The Euro rimmed cartridges are a far better choices in a hinge action firearm. They function more reliably, that's why they were invented! I currently own 7x57R and 8x57R rifles, no complaints. The .308 Brno that I owned was a PITA because the rimless case was clumsy to handle.

Good point. I happen to own a 7x57 Belgian Mauser, and it is a brilliant cartridge. I was just worried about availability of the 7x57 rimmed.

Is the wood on your rifle as nice as the stock photo??

post a pic of it please, in a tacticool age I can never get enough of premium walnut stocks and deep polished blueing.
