I've wanted one of these for years, but could never justify the cost...

Supercub, that's s dracconian regulation I hadn't heard of before, ouch.
You're right.

Only time one can carry a bore larger than 22cal is in a big game season [bear/deer/moose], otherwise it is a small bore rifle or a shotgun with small shot and there has to be a licence [sm game or varmint] to cover the carry of those as well. You aren't even allowed to transport a BG rifle or any firearm out of season w/o a transport permit. I think these laws were put in place to reduce poaching which seems to be more prevalent here than out west.

What a sad state of affairs. Poachers should be hung, drawn, and quartered!

Watch out what type of shotgun ammo you put threw your new BRNO, it is very explicit in the insrtructions, of what can and can't be shot threw it! I know I own 2 different conbo BRNO's and limit myself to #5 shortfor my partridge hunting! I can't remember what size shot you can put thrw it without hurting the choke? Dale Z!

Here is what we do with combo guns in Saskatchewan, Hope you enjoy yours!

I am not sure of the limitations of the earlier series, but the current Brno-cz 800 series allow for the full range of shot, lead or steel. I don't know about slugs through an IM choke, but I only plan to send shot down the barrel.

TK - Much appreciate if you could provide a range report, when you able to, on the rifle bbl + the smoothbore with slugs (at 50-75m). Another request, please attach an image of the rear sight viewed from the top.....thanks.

Out of curiosity, was any factory test target (rifle) provided with the firearm? I intend to go for one in .243/12ga.

No justification needed. That is a sweet firearm.

Yup, nice gun indeed... I don't spend a lot of time on hobbies, except my guns. My wife actually encouraged me to buy some more stuff. She dosen't need to encourage me any more. :p

I like to think I'm doing my part to keep the industry alive. :)

Yep, test target is at 50 meters. Not bad for irons. That will tighten up nicely with a scope, but for now, it will stay the way it is.
The wood is really nice, and no the photos don't do it justice. The grain gives it a kind of 3-D appearance, kinda hard to describe. :D
I was really impressed with the weight, as it seems quite light and well balanced.
Trigger pull seems typcial of a CZ, and the rifle trigger pull is adjustable via a set screw.
I like the fact that it breaks in half with ease, and will fit quite nicely in a backpack.
The butt pad seems to be made of a soft, gel-type rubber, and I hope that will help absorb some of the recoil.
Overall length is about the same as an SKS, and so its in the carbine category.
Very happy with my purchase.
I take her out on Sunday to test it out. I will post results at 100 metres using a few brands of factory ammo and report back.
