IWI CSR18 Carmel non restricted rifle with 18.6” Barrel

Mine is on a Canada Post truck somewhere between Toronto and Halifax…looking forward to seeing it next week. I’ll get a full post put together as soon as I can.
I did a field strip while watching TV. The wife and kids are at the Penticton cabin, and apparently guns aren’t allowed on the sofa…

But what the wife doesn’t know won’t hurt me. 😄

This rifle strikes me as one that won’t need spare parts for a long time. Even some of the pins are captured so they can’t wander off into the carpet.

If I had to describe it in a couple sentences:

It’s a tool, not a toy. It’s not inspiring or a thing of deep, blued beauty. It’s almost boring in its practicality. It’s just an unapologetic 5.56 launcher.

I like it.

As it should be. Can't wait to get one.

Ergonomics are good. Very Eugene-esq 🙄

It’s chunky! Not heavy but beefy. Fit and finish is great. Adjustable LOP and cheek riser.

It’s a very simple design. Feels really rugged.

I’ve not shot it yet. Trigger is crisp and light.

It comes with two QD swivels and an attachment for a QD to Mlok - that’s nice.
Excellent thanks for the reply , definitely nice that they come with 2 QD swivels done for QD to Mlok !

I just scooped that NR Browning DBM off of irunguns.ca

I can’t remember who posted its availability, but my wife may want to speak with you.😂

he nonsense government can do whatever they please. It’d look awfully silly to ban a rifle they just approved.

They did it with Raven and crypto
Just fyi, the crypto was never approved. Never got an FRT. Crusader just made it , claimed it was compliant, and shipped it before getting an FRT for it.

Not saying I agree with the idiocy that the government does, just wanting to point out a fact that’s all

The shorter barrel is nice but looking at mine, I don’t think a few extra inches would make it look funny or unwieldy.

^ only one was in-stock? Don't they know...?
Yeah. Why not bring in a boat load? They’d be gone in a tick.

I was kinda sitting on it until I thought I’d check how many had been available.

Someone scooped the one restricted Brigade Manufacturing, MK-15 too. I’m not quite as excited for that rifle as the Carmel. It does look cool tho.

Mine came in yesterday. Won't have time to shoot it till next week. Feels like a high end airsoft. Nothing wrong with that. It also does feel quite heavy despite having so much plastic.

My first 5.56 so I can't provide any really good analysis of it. Just messing around with accessories for now. I think I will get some red dot and magnifier combo for it later on.

Is yours the non-restricted?

Jeff. Thank you for this review. The least thing I need would be a 2.4K awesome looking broken toy.

I have enough paper weights.

Thanks for the awesome review!
