IWI TAR-21 (Tavor) vs FN FS2000

Don't like my price? Go buy from a dealer then. Oh wait they're all sold out! If they were available right now you'd still pay tax and shipping. Why don't you contribute something useful or do us all a favor and leave.

Your EE post wanted the buyer to pay shipping too.
Here's something useful. People who expect to get over 100% of the full retail price (after 2 price drops!) for a used readily available item are either delusional or looking to rip off a potential buyer.

You chose to pitch your used product in a non EE forum. Don't come off as all injured when you get called on the ridiculous pricing. I've rarely seen the 'embarrased' emoticon used more appropriately.

Sometimes I gotta be that guy ;) Money is money and a new quad don't pay for itself. I dropped the price that extra dollar AND included shipping, just to appease that last guy who has a whopping one whole deal in the EE! :jerkit:

What's shipping? 30 bucks? Your *third* price drop (1 dollar price decrease and pay shipping) lowers it to 99% of full retail. Sorry, I don't want to subsidize your quad.

With sellers like you, do you have any idea why I usually just buy exactly what I want from a reputable retail source?

Thanks for all the advise and direction. Now why don't you contribute something useful to this forum instead of whining about me.

Just to clear it all up for you, the rifle is like new right outta the box. It cost $3100 with tax and shipping from Questar. That was my original price. Then I dropped it a respectable $100 to $3K plus shipping. Now it sits at $2899 shipped. So if you (with your vast buying and selling experience) still think this is an unfair price, PM me and stop trying to call me out so you can have your little rant.

What ScottM is trying to say, used is used and your For sale add will have a lot btt's unless you get a newbie on here who'll give you your money back.

I would love to buy one but expect it to be banned and stolen by the RCMP the way things are going. I have emailed my MP.....

I wouldn't about them, since there are maybe about 200 ish of them in the country but myself & another fella were discussing the next target would likely be the Norc CQ556's since they are inexpensive & came into country in big #'s..
This would likely include the CQ311 as well but we'll see, don't want to start rumours.

What do you guys think of this?

I don't think I would worry about any of these rifles being banned. The T97 is it's own issue altogether and from what I've heard had it's FRT issued before ever physically being inspected by the RCMP.

The Tavor and FS2000, from what I understand have both been tested by the lab.

Anyone in the "know" can chime in here.

no, lets keep that topic for another thread. We are comparing the Tavor TAR-21 and FN FS2000 over here.

I have one of each. They are both fun to shoot. I can't seriously evaluate them beyond playing at the range and shooting gophers (neither one is likely to ever see "action", nor will it matter how fast I can change a mag). They both have been super reliable (other than the now fixed slam-fires on the Tavor). For my informal purposes, I'd give the edge to the FS2000 as it is slightly more pleasant to shoot (no gas in the face etc.) and I get better groups with it.

I don't have a FN (In the future this may change).

The Tavor. no Tavor mark. Clean it and soak it in G96. Tavor mark, non existent. However you still get the puff of ammonia which will need some tape to stop from seeping up. That's the only flaw so far.

Accuracy seems to be very dependent on the ammo you shoot out of it. I'd be hesitant about judging it's accuracy without a bench, high power scope and a lot of ammo choices, including reloads. We all know that the accuracy with many rifles really depends on the ammo. This seems to be the case with the Tavor. 55 PMC showed promise. Regular fodder was marginal.

I love the ergonomics of the Tavor. Mag changes when you use your right thumb for the release are as natural as a conventional firearm. Not a huge deal to me, but still it gets rid of any awkwardness.

As for the AR. Yes I'm a huge fan as well. I prefer the Tavor for off hand shooting though. But the AR is a great overall platform. The fact that they are restricted is a huge disservice to hunters, and varminters. The AR-10 being .308 is nice as well. ;)
