IWI Tavor owners...Yay or Nay???

The feeling of buyers remorse dissipates once you get your tracking #.
I don't get how people can say this and still say "buy it". That doesn't sound healthy breathing exhaust gasses and getting them in your eyes. I wish the FN2000 was available in Canada so that isn't a problem.
What about shooting indoors? Even with the indoor ventilation .....
No different than shooting AR15s, really. You are a bit closer to the action and ejection port but I feel the same amount of gas blowing back at my face when shooting both.
The Norinco Type 97s are back if you're looking solely for a bullpup 5.56 and cost is more of a consideration. Despite what anyone thinks of Chinese arms, how much ammo could you afford with the $2,000 difference? Not something to ignore.

I agree. "Running" a gun, gear, magazine, makes the author sound like a poser wannabe who gets decked out in multicam and armor plates to shoot paper targets at the next tac match. Lots of conformists will latch onto anything some Youtube channel tells them to.

The comment was more directed at having teary eyes. Do people get teary eyed from AR15 gases?
There's absolutely a reason why some firearms are 1/3 of the price than a comparable firearm... That adage has been proven time and time again, I guess it's time for it to be proven again and again.

A note on gas blowbacks and Tavor-eye:
I used to get black marks on my cheek, and notice a bit of puff in my eye shooting the Tavor. Dirtier ammo was worse.
After a while it went away. I assumed the gun was now oiled properly, broken in, etc.
I gave the rifle to a good friend for his first time shooting. At the end of the day he came away with the black mark on his cheek.
I can't replicate it myself. I don't get any kind of marks anymore.
I would say it is very likely that your grip and stance will naturally shift so that you hold the rifle in a manner that doesn't direct gas to your face.
Its more pleasant that way.

This is very true I noticed this as well! I do not get gas eye anymore;-)

i have never had the black mark or anything in my eyes from the tavor. i had no idea this was even an issue?
Maybe you were always holding it in a way that the gas never hit your eye in the first place? This makes sense. I was wondering why some people mention the eye issue, and some don't but if you can hold it in a way to prevent the issue, then it makes sense why it isn't an issue all the time.
what do you think you're doing differently that prevents the Tavor Eye?
