Izhmash Biathlon Basic 7-2

I am considering buying a Izhmash Biathlon Basic 7-2 in a .22l. Does anyone have experience importing these from the states or elsewhere?

if there is enough interest, i'm sure someone will begin importing them.

Yep I want one too.

There may be some imported in the Summer, or so I have heard from someone south of the border who wants to find a distributer up here.
If they can keep the prices reasonable then I will have one for sure. I could even be said to be holding out for one.

no, that's not the 7-2 basic model. the 7-2 is a sporterized version with no open sights.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have read, it will cost a minimum $250-300 per rifle to import them from the states.

Should see if one of the dealers is interested in bringing some in, such as Kodiak Outpost. It would take longer, but it MAY be cheaper since your not buying a twice imported rifle.

Importing from Russia, just one rifle, I have no idea about.

The bolt is super slick, no need to budge from a shooting position, just "flick" your thum to cycle the bolt!!

I got them from Armrus, a dealer that used to import them here. He's closed now, left the counrty unfortunately.

What's the typical price for the 7-2? The Basic is a bit too basic for my likes, particularly as I won't be dragging it through bushes.

Mine is the 7-2 KO and were selling for $600-$700. The full biathlon version, the 7-4, were selling between $900-$1000

apparently the problem with importing them from the manufacturer is that they will only begin production once they have cash in hand, which is bad business as far as most people are concerned. i was told this by a former importer of izhmash.

still hoping to get my hand on one!
