I don't know about that...........There was a lot going in that supposed firefight, and the contracting company he was working for was not up to par apparently....keep in mind he went over there in Iraq during the boom when anyone could get hired.....also what people thought were good ideas for tactics and training has changed a lot over the years. I just get the impression on AR-15 there are a lot of arm chair generals on there......also just because you served in the military does not exactly give you a pass as an expert, one thing I learned from the service is guys with big egos annoy the hell out of me, and there is a lot of them in general especially when it comes to the gun world. I don't know how many after action reports I was apart of where the ego maniacs quickly turned to degrading each other and undermining the moral as a whole in the section or even the platoon level.
I agree with you for sure, my point was that the haters were not all COD playing teenagers ranting on ARF, there were legitimate service members on there who were being critical not just of his supposed actions in Iraq but also on the training and techniques he pushes in his courses.
Also just because someone says he was in the service does not make it so, I have bumped into one or too of them before too...
I also agree, there are tons of people like that around, they seem to flock to the ranges. Even some of the guys who were/are in the service are guilty of exaggerating their military service history, what they did or what unit they served on. I have met half a dozen people that claim they are/were/coulda been SF/JTF2 and etc, some of them are worse shooters than me... which is alarming if they were potentially a tier 1 operators.

hahaha
That being said, on ARFCOM, they must send in proof of service to be vetted by the site administration and earn the tank next to their name. If someone has a tank next to their name you can be sure that they are/were in the service.
I'm not sure from the story of him getting people killed by getting to the ditch instead of staying in a car when rounds are ripping through the car they were driving is necessarily the thing you want to do. Mistakes are always made on some level or another and in this business people die easy...At the end of the day I was not there and I have no idea what their SOPS are, or what pr-training they had at the time..
I agree, I was not there, I am not military and I don't know anything about two way ranges. I was just stating that the focus of the anger towards him tends to stem from that particular incident and the following comments made by him on-line and in the report regarding that incident. Also he has made numerous contradictory statements that are constantly being rehashed from TV appearances and his you tube videos.
i personally have really little knowledge on Mr Yeager but he seems like alright guy, I'm sure his courses are very informative, as for his supposed antics I have not watch many of his vids.........
I don't have any experience with his course however some of his online videos have had actual footage of guys down range, filming up range, during live fire drills... so yeah he has received some justly deserved criticism. I am sure he is knowledgeable, I am only pointing out that some of the critics make valid points and do have a background to refute/critique mr. Yeagers statements. I do personally find his videos a bit over the top, the 1911 vs glock one is a good example of how he took something that could have been a fairly good discussion and lost all credibility with dramatic hyperbole and injecting strong personal bias into the review. I personally don't like loud mouth types, so I find him a bit arrogant. That doesn't mean he is not knowledgeable, rather just an individual I couldn't learn anything from as I would be questioning every technique he is pushing on the grounds that he comes off as a know it all type
