JC Custom Barrels

JC has the .30BR Robinet .330 neck reamer.
Might try to push him to get a V2 Robinet .331 neck..:)

I had JC use my own reamer. It's basically the V2 Robinet .331 neck as I had it made by Manson with Randy's recommendations.
Sadly I haven't had a chance to shoot it due to budget constraints.

Peter, my last JC 284 barrel would shoot well under 1/4 MOA out to 900 meters in my PGW F-Class rifle. My current Kreiger will not do this although I can shoot a perfect score 75-15V at 500 meters (Alberta Provincials last September) with it.

I currently have 2 , JC barrels . A 10 twist , 26" .308 in a MTU contour that typically shoots the 185 Berger Juggernaut in the .300's MOA at 200M off a bipod ( 5 shot groups ) . The other is a very heavy contour .223 , 26" , 7 twist . This is a recent acquisition and during initial break in , was shooting in the .300's at 100M off a cheap bipod ( 5 shot groups ) . Both are easy to clean with zero copper fouling .
Both rifles are "tactical" rifles , not BR rifles , and can shoot beyond my ability to shoot them . Zero issues or concerns from me .

Ive gotten a 223, 22BR, 260 and a 308 from him now and Ive been happy with everyone one of them. When I get a barrel spun up, I also send in a couple bullets with what I wanted to shoot in them and he does a custom chamber job for me.

Ill keep ordering from him if I need a barrel for anything.

Just working with my first JC barrel on my 300 PRC, my reloading needs some work but I think it will be a sub half moa with at least a couple bullets. Both the 210 VLD and 212 ELD-X show good promise.

Barrel was flawless, probably go for another for my 308.

Just finished a range session with my buddy who spun on his new 6BR JC barrel. With the lapua factory 105 loads, he was printing groups in the .1s at 100 yards. Shots 16-20 measured .157". He is happy to say the least. Buy with confidence

Ordered a MTU barrel in 6.5 creedmoor from JC in October, production time was about 10 weeks. But definitely worth the wait, rifling looked very good with a bore scope and it's a tac driver. He also replies to his emails very quickly, feel free to reach out to him for questions as I did.

Hi Peter, hope this finds you well.

JC makes exceptional barrels, and has a tremendous knowledge of barrel fabrication process, metallurgy and chamber design. To date, he's made eleven barrels for me, for four different actions and three calibers. (6.5X47L, 6.5CM. 6XC) They are without fault, and often cost 10-20% less than the closest competition.

In 2023, using a JC Customs 6.5cm stainless barrel, I took home numerous medals in OSA, PR and F-class open including a match bronze at the 1000yd Nationals in SK; this barrel out shot many larger calibers on several occasions. I've referred countless persons to him for these reasons and more.

I believe JC can offer a good product to carry, and believe his efforts should go to competitive Canadian shooters, rather than seeing him bogged down in offshore orders that drown him in paperwork and admin.

I will be ordering another four barrels from him this year, in preparation for the Eastern F-Class championships and more.( I genuinely think a CGN organized group buy of 50 F-Class 7mm 1.25"X30" barrels would be a good idea, the discipline is really ramping up in 2024.)

Pricing is important, but so is the ability to call and talk to the guy making your barrels. If JC can find some good machinists to mentor, and accept using a business partner for sales and admin, I think he could really saturate the market with impeccable quality barrels.

Feel free to reach out if you need any other constructive feedback, or help with marketing his products should you acquire them.

Patrick:

This is finest endorsement this far. We were there a couple of weekends ago and picked up our Timberwolf .338LM with 31" fluted JC barrel and Bat-action .338LM with McLennan barrel. The Timberwolf is the most accurate .338 Lapua that we have seen. He worked on the
Bat which is now more accurate and needs further testing.

JC has hired an experienced machinist who is fitting in well.

Regards,

Peter
