John Woo'ing

Believe it's called Akimbo...I done it with a Sig and a Glock, Sig and a BHP.

used a pair of Chinese made M54's in 9mm. Holding a pistol up in each hand, I quickly realized the futility of trying to even remotely maintain an accurate sight picture on either. The best that could be accomplished was holding them parallel to each other- thumbs touching - and aiming at the target with the dominant hand pistol. Both guns jammed with FTE's within 3 rounds
I think that is why Chow Yan Fat uses Berettas most of the time

what? he goes :p

But diddn't he only use Berettas only for the whole shoot em up scene and running away from the hit men? Becuase I remember ( been awile since I seen the movie ) that he stole the M9's from the thug. Becuase they were hidden in a hidden comparment of the pimp truck.

^ I don’t even remember, I just pulled random picture from the net. :p

I his early movies like Better Tomorrow 1,2,3 (and a number of others) I’m pretty sure he uses 92's...

btw I love Chow's "Full Contact" movie, I think he's got a Beretta in that one too...

FYI one of the reasons you see so many of them in the movies is because they work well with blanks, the other reason is of course it's a kick ass gun 8)

I've tried it with two glock 22s and two 1911s in 45. Same results - lots of fun, not much hit.

John Woo's stuff has nothing on Lara, though.
She even has a method to reload the two guns at once. :D

Fools(Idiots) go where angels fear to tread....

Save your gun fantasies for what you see in the theatre, you might live longer.
The younger gunnutz are probably quite impressionable by what they see in video games and todays movies.

You have no control "Wooing" and at worst case you don't want to hurt yourself or others.

Use your brain and common sense at the range.

The movies are just that - fake and just movies.

While listening to the comentary on my "Hard Boiled" DVD, John Woo explains that he favors the Beretta pistols in his movies, because the design of the gun allows it to fire blanks without as many failures as other firearms.

With all the new computer advances though, it seems this is a thing of a past (check out Once upon a time in Mexico). As all the muzzle flashes and ejected casings were digitally added.

Coyote Ugly - you trying to say something here? Or just trolling?

Can't recall any comments about unsafe practices on any range in this thread. And from the sounds of it, when John Wooing, the safest place to be would be down range.

SAFETY, yes, that's what I am trying to say to the idiots that are stupid enough to do this.

The beauty with the internet is, there will always be idiots promoting stupid, unsafe ideas, and there will always be idiots there to suck it up and try the stupid idea.

It's all fun and games until an ambulance or STARS air ambulance fly you into the Foothills or the Peter Lougheed Hospital from the gun range, from doin' the Woo'.

Cansoldier45-you can resume your post at the video game now.

yep, that's Beretta baby :) IMO if the gun is more reliable with blanks it is simply more reliable in general

to me that's just borring, might as well watch cartoons :|

Wow, you're calling a lot of people here idiots. Can you explain why this is such an incredibly dangerous thing to do?

Granted not all the shots are hitting the paper target, but those that miss hit the back stop. People shoot one pistol rapid fire all the time and frequently miss the target, are they idiots as well? It's not like two handguns firing is so wild that bullets are spraying 360 degrees from the firing line. So aside from wasting ammo, why is shooting double fisted so wreckless and the people who do it stupid?

Maybe you should John Woo' at the range and call the local police detachment to witness your stupidity and ask for their opinion on the matter of Woo'ing.

Do us all a favor and surrender your firearms license. End of story.

You are way out of line here. No one insulted you, we were enjoying a polite civil post and you start insulting people and being an @ss in general. If you can't post without name calling and insults, don't post at all.

One last thought:

Would you advise someone doing their Restricted Firearms Test to do the Woo' when demonstrating to the Instructor the proper stance and holding the Firearm? (I guess that would be Firearms as there is now 2 Pistols).
I guess you would have to ask the Instructor for the second firearm to do the Woo' and show him the proper techniques.

Would you automatically fail the test, then get thrown out the door head first for Wooing'! :D

Ahhh yes,i remember playing Area 51 with dual pistols, after some practice I got Pretty good :), but still not as effective as i was with one. Still have to try in for real. (what types of looks do you get from the other people at the range when you woo.....?)

While you are more than willing to point out how wrong and terrible "Wooing" (have we just coined a term?) is, you have yet to provide an explanation to support your position.

I agree that shooting two pistols at once serves no purpose except to waste ammuniton and make noise, but I just don't see why it's so wrong and dangerous. If a right handed person fires a single gun in the left hand, is that dangerous? I think not. So how does putting one in the other hand at the same time result in an offence that (you feel) should be punished by relinqueshment of the offender's PAL? Both barrels remain down range, so what makes two so dangerous to myself or anyone around me?
