John's VZ Pics

This happens the day after I sell my VZ-58 expecting to get a new one from Marstar. :bangHead:

While he hasn't said it clearly the only logical conclusion to draw from John's statement is that the new VZ-58's have been classified as prohibited.

Hope he gets it figured out.

My guess (TOTAL GUESS) is that they are calling them converted autos so what 12.5?

Stupid CFC and RCMP or whomever it turns out is responsible.

This is getting ridiculous... I have the cash and 1720 rounds for the 59 sitting around.

I would speculate that someone is thinking/claiming that the recievers aren't new manufacture... I wonder if it's a real concern, or someone trying to harrass the importers into giving up?

This IS RIDICULOUS!!! John, I can't beleive they screwed you like this! How can you run a decent business if the .gov keeps chasing you around, trying to make anything you do illegal, so that everyone is stuck one way or another? Dam, I still can't beleive they did this. If you need a petition, I'm sure many of us would be more than willing to help. Thumbs up for all the good work John!

THis could be the case. IIRC John said they have different internals then the ones brought in to date.

GUNSLINGER;
"John, do you mean the VZ59's, VZ58's, or short VZ58's?"
The Vz-59 has "issues" which we will look into....
The VZ-58 variants have had their classification changed after the fact.

To answer your next question regarding imports, in this case we applied for new FRTs on the weapons six months before importing them, they were approved and new FRTs were issued by the CFC.
We applied for and were granted IICs to import same....
Once arrived the application for the import license was submitted to DFAIT and approved.
AFTER THEY WERE HERE the folks in Ottawa did a new determination on them and re-classified them prohibited.

"What gives them the right to change their minds half way through"
NOT halfway through, AFTER the fact.

IN SHORT, take all precautions, spend your money, import the goods, then have them banned for public sale.... Interesting precedent ?

NAVY SHOOTER:
"Is it a re-classification to restricted or prohibited? "
They are now classed prohib. This applies to the VZ-58s
John

Including the ones you've previously sold or just this batch?

This could get interesting if they are all classified as prohibited now....... I don't see how a new one could be classifed different than an old one? Given this latest development though.....who knows?

Maybe we should start a letter campaign to the minister...

John, you make the call!

Agreed

John if you want, I think you can get alot of support in many ways from people here, but it is your call. Regardless, we'd sure appreciate knowing which departments are causing the problems....including names.

Hello Moderators

Could we get the last posts from this thread, starting from Marstar John's revelations, merged with the other thread dedicated to this?
