JP Rocky Mtn. 3-Gun World Match...

Stormbringer and I have pulled the trigger on this - apps were sent in yesterday :dancingbanana:

Looking forward to an exciting time.
Not sure yet if we'll ship ammo or drive down yet, something we'll have to discuss soon probably.

We're planning on driving from Ontario. Shipping ammo is a non issue.

We're driving because shipping ammo "is" an issue... Lol
Not only is it expensive and perhaps a bit of a regulatory dance, but I call it risky.
Risky in that "what if" said shipment gets lost/stolen or gets re routed through Alaska or for some other reason doesn't arrive.
Who wants to be scrambling last minute for ammo?

Plus... I don't know about other guys, but... It ain't just ammo we carry to these matches.
Lawn chairs, coolers, tool boxes, etc...
Two or three guys can easily fill a pickup truck.

It'll be a haul, but... It'll be nice to have all ones gear in one place at one time.

Just have to figure out a protocol for what gets played on the radio

Plus, you guys like to do your antique shopping along the way....you guys best leave a week early, otherwise you won't be able to hit all the Mennonite villages on the way out!

Yeah there's that...
And of course I'm still building my spoon collection.

And a proper brake job.
Make sure you get your brakes checked before you go.
I've heard some people have had issues in the past.

That's just one more story to laugh at over a few beers someday..LOL
'Seems theres always "something" to remember these trips by...
Two years ago MY truck snapped an axel on the way home from the Ozark 3-Gun in Missouri...

'Spent a couple of days stranded in "Normal" Illanois...
Thank goodness the "Normal Police" were there to keep an eye on the two Canadian creepy guys oogling all the pretty college girls as they sat in diners and cafe's while waiting for their ride to be fixed...

Well...finally all squared away. New AR barrel installed, shotgun ready to go along with the pistol. Spare parts, ammo, slings, all figured out. By the time the snow melts it'll be only a few short months of practice. Lots of time to practice shotgun loading though

Going to shoot Tactical. Need a quality 1-6 and a barrel to match. The match will be demanding on your rifle skills.

I'm more worried about my breathing skills...
Elevation may get the best of those not conditioned for it.

would bottled oxygen put me in "open div."?
