hi, just purchased a used JR 45 acp, after firing a few rounds I need some ideas what is going on, first I get the odd Jamb when it feeds maybe 1 in 5 rounds, the bigger issue is after loading the mag in the rifle, get a round in the chamber and fire, shell ejects but the next round is in chamber but the gun is not cocked, cycling the bolt causes a jamb with the second and third bullet, ejection does not seem smooth with a unfired round.
took the back off and noticed the recoil spring is flat one end and just cut the other, squared it off but no improvement, also noted the ejected shell has heavy powder residue on outside of casing
I believe the bolt is not fully cycling because the gun is not cocked, I can create this manually dry cycling, my guess is its short by 1/8 inch.
I am leaning towards the spring is too soft or was cut down to fix the issue and is allowing the bolt to retract too early hence the heavy powder on a spent round
going to order a new spring but anything else that may need addressing
thanks in advance
