JR carbine owner, would you agree with what said in this vid?

In the spirit of keeping things rolling (the Thureon Defense thread is winning right now, and let's face it, a cooler name

In the spirit of the OP's topic, which is: "JR carbine owner, would you agree with what said in this vid?", it's about JR owners, not would be
Thureon owners! Besides, your obviously spending too much time talkin' and not shootin' yer pistol cal carbine!:D:D

I just sold my JR 9mm, but not for the reasons mentioned in the video (vacation cost me more than I expected). However, I DID experience those issues. Couple of solutions.

First let's discuss the screws loosening. Yes, just about all of mine did that and it is pretty irritating. I don't think Loctiting them in place is acceptable because to properly clean this gun you need to take it apart, which means taking the screws out. Unless you have a rifle-length ultrasonic cleaning tank Loctite is counterproductive. You can solve the charging handle loosening by picking up a $0.20 lock washer or castle nut from Home Depot. The others, I'd actually considered getting a Magpul ACS stock and toss some Allen keys into the compartments. Kind of a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist, but there isn't an easy fix with the tapered heads.

Disassembly is a pain because it essentially requires you to own an AR stock wrench. Easily found and bought, but JRC should have included it with the gun in the first place, period. I resorted to using a drift and mallet to take the castle nut off and you can NOT get proper torque to put it back on that way. Especially egregious is how JRC instructs you to disassemble the rifle completely and lubricate it before shooting it for the first time, but leaves you to your own devices on how to remove the castle nut!

Light strikes or FTFs - yes, they happen. I had several. I racked the bolt and kept shooting. Definitely something that JRC needs to fix and from the sounds of it, they are.

All that said, was I unhappy with my rifle? Not really. It was cheap to shoot and Glock mags are a dime a dozen, especially if you get the KCI ones. I had a nice ARMS SIR that shrouded 80% of the barrel and made it look fabulous, and I'd inquired about getting a 10" SMG style barrel made and reregister it as a restricted. It's built tough as a tank, takes all kinds of AR accessories, and as far as pistol carbines go it's one of the less expensive options. I would not have sold it if I didn't need to because most of it's issues are solvable, and to be frank it went bang for me more often than not.
