jr carbine ####

I want one bad but with a longer handguard. I'd be keen fore a railed FS block and a magpul or olde schoole M16 style but wonder how much of a PITA a D ring and FS would be :( Maybe YHM is my best bet and I can be all cool with rails [that i dont use]. hmmmmm.... if only cash were unlimited!!

Any issues with fitting the handguard over the shroud?

Where do i get these "barrel shrouds".Looks WAY better with one
The barrel shrouds are just airsoft ones screwed on back wards. You have to take the foam out of them and use a ream to make the one end large enough to fit over the barrel but they are made of fairly soft metal so I just used a stepped bit and done in no time.

New pistol grip, carry handle and scope.

Hey guys, I'm a noob when it comes to these jr carbines-----but I'm thinking on picking one up next week on the way to deer camp. (just happen to drive right by ellwood epps!). I' m left handed, and like the idea of ambi bolt handle & ejection port. I've read that some owners are having feeding problems with them. I also want to shoot cast bullets, the website says they don't recommend them, what's your experience using cast. Am I going to end up with a rifle that works ----- or jams every magazine?
thanks......
Dave.

Ive shot a few hundred cast hand loads with mine without a problem. I'm also getting better groups with them over the factory jacketed stuffs.

I'm not sure what that has to do with what it is. DBoys make some very fine items. Same with UTG and G&G.

I was simply responding to your post where you were telling canuckchap that the shrouds everyone was talking about were airsoft ones screwed on backwards after you removed the foam and drilled it out a bit. I wasn't trying to say that your idea was a poor one, I was just letting canuckchap know that most of the JR Carbine shrouds seen on CGN come from E&L Manufacturing - they are custom made to the length required and fit like a glove without modification.

Just curious why the long 30+Rd mag's seem popular when they must be difficult to use prone or from the bench etc, I could understand if we were allowed more then 10rds in a mag, but?

Now about those handguards, they really do make a JR look a whole lot better,,, I did not see any on the E&L site, but will give them a call tomorrow,,,

Thanks for the tip:)

The handguards aren't from E&L some of them are YHM and various other manufacturers. The barrel shrouds are from E&L if thats what you meant.
