JR Carbines at Epps

the stock just has a roll pin in a blind hole. all it needs is a small drill through the center to find the other side, drill with a bit the same size as the pin till you get to it, then punch the pin out and you have a collapsible stock again. pretty easy to do.

Why is the stock pinned?

Would be a great bear defense gun in .45 auto. Too bad we wont see them for a while. It would also be interesting to know of you could use regular AR rails, like a Troy MRF-R. A 12" rail with the 19" barrel would make it a bit more appealing...

Granted, these are non-restricted, but I'll take a 10.5" AR15 9mm shorty with 10 rd LAR mags any day over this jam-o-matic. Factory fixes aside, these guns have a pretty awful internet reputation wrt reliability :(

I saw the one youtube vid with all the jams but it seems like later generation guns might have sorted that out?
Gunblast liked itcou:

To be fair, it seems to have had some early trouble, and who knows if its all sorted out. But to be really fair, its internet reputation as a jammomatic is based solely on a couple of youtube videos from the same guy, and a couple of comments from a very few posters on AR15.com. Hardly a fair trial!

I hope you are right and this turns out to be a winner!!

It would appear that the handguard on the JR mounts like the hanguard on the SR22, if they are similiar I'm sure a Troy FF MRF rail could be mounted on this rig.

So how about a .45 version with a MIAD grip, ACS stock, Troy rail, and a Strikfire? Hmm that sounds like one badass bush gun/guide gun!!!!

Had a chance to handle one of these at Epps last week, pretty solid except the mag was really wobbly in the mag well.
The stock is fixed due to export restrictions, but a pin can be drilled/removed to make it adjustable again.

I think I would like it alot better if the mag came out straight or angled slightly forwards.... but since it has bad initial reviews (ie problems during break in and in the earlier models, reliability problems) is pretty ugly (just in my opinion) and ridiculously pricey for what it is, immmmmmmmmmmma pass....

I would buy the thureon if it was brought in at a decent price, even despite the fact that they would have to be pinned to 5rnds.

but regardless guys, there are some very awesome guns coming in with non-res status including this carbine, and the rapidly expanding black rifle market is making me very happy! *knock on wood*....
