My little Ruger showed up yesterday, chambered in .257 Bob. I'm torn on mounting optics on but do have a lonely 2.5X8X36 sitting downstairs, first range trip will be on the irons and see what my tired old eyes say. With the price for new brass, I thought I'd just get some factory cartridges but they proved to be a bit tough to turn up in town, I did get my grubby mitts on a few boxes though. I will definitely load up on brass for the Roberts.......

Thanks Y'all for the props! The kids are always happy when I drag a new rifle home as it means that they are getting one of my others.....

Absolutely beautiful rifle! I think the 2.5-8x36 will look good on there.

I couldn't resist, have to see if I can do a touch lower than the #6 rings, have it kicked all the way back but when I throw it up at 2.5 it's perfect with both eyes open.....

Such bitter cold up here, trying to juggle time right now. We have a huge fundraiser in Nashville that may interfere but we shall see..... ;-)

Walked into a small shop the other day and they had a box of Nosler 257 brass it stung, but sometimes it’s better to be looking at it then for it.

.25 is my favourite bore to hunt with it though all I presently own is a bunch of bullets and a Krieger blank, with big plans attached to it. No secret I like speed and babble about it a good deal, and .25s are predisposed that way. Good bullet weight range for right up to moose, with nil recoil.

Looks like you are very close to the toaster and it makes good company at the dinner table complete with candles . . . Oh so romantic!

I have looked at the Bob but am now on my second .25-06.

Nice rifle! Hope you have many great adventures and memories with it!
Have the same one, with less figure in the wood.
Wife liked it so much, it became her birthday/Christmas/Anniversary gift!
Will most likely get a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8 on it too, just like on her Lipsey's No,1 in 250 Savage.
Have the Leupold VX-3i 2.5-8 on my Lipsey's M77 RSI in 250 Savage as well.
These rifles are just so much fun to carry, shoot and hunt with!
Don't think I'll ever own another 243 again...

Very beautiful rifle!! I love quarter bores too. Had a Ruger M77 Mark II in .25-06 that I wish I never sold, it was a tack driver.

Now I have a Remington 700 CDL SF in .257 Wby, it's like the .25-06 on steroids. :D
