June purchases...

I don't have any rounds in .455 Webly Auto yet, but it did come with an ACP barrel & three ACP magazines. Took it out yesterday to the range & I'm impressed with how well it shoots. Me on the other hand, not so much... More range time & less screwing around on the computer I guess...

I picked up a few new toys. I got a cyq, byf, and an ac P38, to add to my collection and also grabbed a nice Inglis,

June was a big month for me as these were my first ever firearms purchases. I had paid for all 3 before my PAL even came through, and I'm already trying to decide what I want next (I'm thinking Nagant M1895 revolver) so these will only be the first of many more to come!

Well now you need all the russian Rifles. M38, SVT-40, SVT-38 (rare), M91/30 PU, M91/30 PEM, SKS.......

BTW Nice K31...

Spreewerkes did not stamp production years as you know, but rather letters only to indicate year, where as the other manufactures stamped a year and a letter for month. My cyq is a four digit number beginning with 7### m. M suffix, I can't find the web site anymore that ids the year of manufacture, but I will let you know if I find it.

So 9mm Suppository inspired me to pull out my P-38's and have a look at them. Pics in the next day or two I hope. A byf 43, byf 44, ac 43 and one that has gone to hell and back that i need to figure out who/when it was made.

interesting thing about the byf 43. I was taking the grips off and they were sticking a bit. Figuring 20-60 years of grease/grime etc were holding them in place. Gently pried off one grip and then i notice something that is off white on the back strap of the pistol. My thinking is that it was a piece of paper that was placed there to tighten up the grips and reduce the play. Well it so happens its the green slip! From 1977. Issued in Bathurst, NB. it went from one individual to another and both had the same surname. I'm thinking maybe a vet bring back (one can only speculate eh?!). In the box where it says "obtained from" there is a smaller box in the lower right corner that says "No." and typed in there are "NPR". Would that mean No Prior Registration?

Calibre was listed as .38 and maker as Walther.

Anyhow thought it was a neat and interesting bit of trivia.

Well I tell you what I CANNNNN'T To see the pics... OH YEAH. It sure sounds like you may be on to an official Vet bring back, what does the paper trail say after 1977, did it come to you in the now from 77? If so then the NPR would indicate brought into the country prior to pistol registration which I can't remember sixties I think,,, anyhow that definitly puts it in the ball park for a vet BB...

That is sweet! I'm so jealous. Been wanting a nice Inglis for years.

Thanks Riflechair! I had an Inglis hanging in my mind for years as well. I loved them ever since I shot the pants off of our Signals O,, back in West Germany as a lowly Private.. lol and the best part was it was his personal side arm.. HAHA...

Then later in my career I joined the CISM Military pistol shooting team.. I was deadly smedly with the o'l Brown HP...:bump::canadaFlag:

Picked both of these up from Milarm in Edmonton:

US Army Colt M1901 in .38 Long Colt. Nice gun in nice shape, except that some deep thinker notched the backstrap, I guess to try for a better grip.

Antique Webley Mk.I, in fairly rough condition but priced right.

Also, I picked up an Enlisted Model Bodeo 1889 from a board member - working on getting some ammo for it.
