At the moment we have 19 pieces available and they are not import mark. Can't say anymore without breaking forum rules.

Finally i can post some pictures of a may purchase, just had to find a barrel band and front sights. And she was completed today.

inland parts with a national postal meter receiver which used to be in german service.

and now sporting a non-restricted barrel.

looking forward to taking it out this weekend

When you removed the german tang sight, were the old markings intact? I've seen many that were ground to rough the surface prior to soldering on the front sight. also, was your rear sight base plugged and serrated? If so, how did you deal with that? Weld over, dress, and repark?

the old sights were removed by the seller, and new rear sights installed, also by seller.

the germans sights left a blank, (shiney) square, and the markings virtually disapeared with it.

i have yet to decide if i want to repark it, i personally like the worn look, however, the remains of a german sigth does bother me a little.

EDIT, heres a picture of the top receiver:

It's shiney because it's silver solder. You could remove it by heating it up till the solder runs and then suction it up, but it's likely not worth the bother. Also, you could affect the heat treating of the receiver.

As an uncollectable blaster, it shouldn't make any difference anyhow!

Claven2 - Too bad its '99 and not '97... These are interesting revolvers, with a LOT of history.
Sigismund - another option is to remove the silver mechnically. Polish the area with emery cloth, apply cold blue, see where there is any solder left, repeat until there are no traces of solder. Beadblast the receiver ring and cold blue. This will give a reasonable match. Or blast the receiver, and repark.

Yeah, I thought about the tragedy of it being made 2 years too late :(

Sadly, pre-97 made guns were only produced in Belgium for the Russians, are SUPER rare, and are really expensive if found :(

thanks for the advice! i'll be doing that, seems like the best soloution, while still keeping the original overall finish.

hollow bolt

That is a nice enfield! The hollowed out bolt handle - is that normal for a LB No4? I thought only JC's had that?
i own a LB 1943 with matching numbers except for the mag.(i need a woodset to restore it but the barrel haven't been chopped.)
anyways, there is no drilled hole in my bolt,i was wondering if the one in pics don't come from a no 5?

It could, but it's more likely a No.4Mk1 LB bolt scavanged of fan earlier scrapped rifle, or a BSA No.4Mk1 bolt renumbered.

Nice catch Geoff ... :)

I saw that one and it looked like a great price. I didn't see any mention of "all matching", which was the only question I was curious about.
