Introducing the 1911 A1 sport was actually listed as a police blued on the website. Are these test fired? as my firing pin surround is a bit dirty and scuffed.

My new norc 1911 had some slight copper fouling so I do believe they are tested.. Could be wrong but its my belief that someone put at least 1 through the tube..

But seriously how wicked looking are these newest norc 1911s, the finish on them seems to be twice what some of the older ones I've seen

I have visited several gun factories. They typically fire a full mag to test for feeding, firing and extraction.

if a gun has a problem it gets fixed and fired again.

Military rifles get a full mag (30) because they get tested for FA as well.

Yeah I could smell that too but it was oiled so was hard to tell, and it's a pretty sweet for the price can't wait to get to the range.

But it's good to know that It may of been test fired for reliability issues, so I don't end up with any disability issues.

Oh this is painful. You're making me want one.

I just got my Tokarev and I'm leaning towards buying a case of ammo for that...

...but for only a few hundred more dollars I could have a 1911....

Must....restrain....wallet....

Got mine and I couldn't be happier. however some of the edges are sharp - cut my steak sharp. any ideas on how I can deburr the edges, one post talks about using a honing stone, once I do all this do i need to reblue? not realy worried about it at all. I might just leave it as is.

Brand new Norinco comes with heavy packing grease, I don't think they have been test fired, but nothing big deal, they work good. but where you get your police model?

My new Norinco A1 was clean. I only had to wipe down the second mag that was sealed in the baggy.
It did state in the manual that it had been test fired at the factory after assembly.

How do these new Norcs hold up? How good are the mags? Do they rust easy? What aftermarket mags, parts work on these 1911s? How greasy are they out of box?

Don't seems heard anything about rust, normal problems of older norinco is some sharp edge but the newer one is very nice, very nice shooter, for a $300's dollars gun is hard to beat.

I been looking at one for using weekly, i have a 1911 .45 but wanna get a beater i can use all time, what you think of it so far and that 599 deal is very hard to beat

i have the 2 tone model, it works amazing, never had an issue over the 1000rds ive put through it. had a blued version before this one and never had an issue with that one either. as for the sharp edges and the bluing removal from stoning/emery etc just keep it oiled, and dry and youll never get rust. if you use it in the rain or really humid enviroments just make sure you store it dry. these norcs are great, get the gun/ammo combo, shoot all the ammo, and sell the gun for 300$ (will sell in under 24h) afterwards and buy a new combo lol.

Mine shipped on Friday .. Canada Ammo .. Want to use it for cast bullets .. Have a glock 21 so I now have to beaver tail it as I can't take the chance the Mrs. ( family CFO ) will not grab the glock to high after using the new Norc and Ruger 22/45. Ordered some beavertail adapters online .. Look interesting ... Yes I went for the ammo deal also .. Even though I can reload for $.08 a round sub $.22 factory loads are a great thing to have for the glock ... and JR Carbine

Flame me .. After a lot of reading , you tubing , crawling on a lot of US forums .. I went wit $18.00 ( Italian) ACT mags that are on the SFRC web site .. sFRC is the CGN sponcer so they have a link at the top of the page .. I will try these before I lay down 40 to 60 a pop for flavor of the day name brand mags ..

Jury seems out on Norc mags .. Just may need springs and a check for fit and finish .. Seems you either love or hate Norc from everything I read .. I would like a second barrel .. Yet just today a guy in the EE section advertised for a .45 barrel and said he did not want Chineese junk .. Everything I have read from recognized fourm posters ( not just CGN ) would indicate that early Norc units like in the 70's had some lug problems , but the slide and the receiver and the barrel are considered better than average and many people have posted they are beyond 25000 rounds through them. Many opinions on what mag to buy ..

Only difference between Police and Sport is a rounded back strap ( going on pictures ) ... Canada Ammo site shows a pic of a unit with a rounded back strap and call it Police .. Marstar shows a pic with a flat backstrap and calls it a Sport model. A recient you tube review 11/2011 reflects a guy who purchased the police model , but was happy he got the flat backstrap instead .. He may have indicated he purchased from CA .. So they have been shipping a model with a flat backstrap for some time , and may not be able to get rounded backstrap units .. My transfer says Sport but the web site called it Police . Not a big deal to me both units have the same features and backstraps are not addressed in descriptions on either site.

I do not represent either sales locations so this could all be conjecture on my part
