Hey guys,

my three 91/30's just arrived from westrifle, awesome service and shipping, got across the country in just 6 business days!

Anyways I only have the patience to clean one of these bad boys right now finally got all the cosmo off.

It is all matching numbers and says 1938 on the receiver so I assume thats when it was built... what else can I find out about my new mosins?

Good move. At that price, you will never regret it, and undoubtedly never see these or any other rifles sold for so cheap again.

had one, regretted selling it
seeing this thread makes me want to buy another one. specially at the price they're offered at, you can;t go wrong with such a fine piece of history

Sorry, newb question...Where did you get them?

Tradex, Westrifle, SFRC, all have them on their websites starting at about $100, and going up to about $150 for the nice ones.

These are 91/30's but there are other models that are a little more pricey and a bit harder to find, but there are a couple on the EE.

I just picked up a Polish model 44, which has a shorter barrel and folding bayonet, for $175, and I am loving it. Gets alot of attention at the range when I am shooting with the bayonet extended.

Another plus is the cheap surplus ammo. I have found it shoots better out of my gun than the new manufactured soft point to.

Now go buy 1, or 2 if you are smart. LOL

Got one from them too. A 39 Tula. Hit the gong at 200 yards right out of the box.

I have to buy more...

Going to shoot mine this saturday, I'm excited I hope it shoots well I understand they are sometimes pretty bad shooters out of the box.

What type of ammo were you using?

If you looking for ammo we have wide selection of 7.62x54
We have new production and surplus.
If you go hunting we have SP 7.62x54 at lowest price.
200 rds for $120

I got 4. :p

Great rifles for the cost and the ammo is cheap as well. I got mine all cleaned up and they shot fine. Just need to get used to the iron sites, I'm a little scope lazy now.

Just got back from the range, put 80 rounds through it zero issues.

It worked flawlessly the only issue I had was some rimlock when loading the magazine.

It shot amazing groups but right now it is shooting about 6-10" right 100yards. I notice the front site is very far to the left likely because it was sighted in with the bayonet on?

I didn't take a hammer and punch with me to the range so I'm going to have to tap it back, do you think its safe to say if I tapped the front sight back into a center position it will fix my windage issue?

Yes. They are very easy to sight in. A front sight tool is available to correct horizontal zero but a hammer and punch do the same thing. A little goes a long way.

Here's quick video of me shooting one of my mosins, as you can see the action is really smooth.
