Just got my 44mag Mare's leg holster

I got mine for my henry 22. Gun fits awesome. Kudos to the leathermaker. Got a henry 44 mag on the way so my wallet might cry a little more for a second holster...lol...thank you Wanstalls.
 
Great piece of leather looks great but I would like mine a little longer to cover the crown and the front sight after all they are a soft spot on any rifle. I would pay the difference for an extra 2 3 inches of leather and it would cover muzzle and still not increase overall length of rig.

if i was carrying it around and stuff id get it longer but i live in the city and only shoot it at a range so i just got the holster for one just to have one and keep it protected when its in transit, otherwise it just sits in my safe.
 
Can I see a photo of the gun and holster " in use" ....I'm seriously thinking i'd buy a new gun just to have a holster like that

I also agree that I'd prefer the holster to cover the crown and front site, not be closed on the end, just longer.

Never knew the Henry 44mag Mares leg had an octagon bbl. I'd put a full butt stock on mine….(must resist)
 
Going by the third picture, it definitely looks like the brass receiver on the Henry:
