Have not shot it yet, but I am overly impressed with every part of this gun.
After selling my MP9 a couple weeks ago I said to myself that that was the last polymer gun I was going to purchase, because in my head, you just can't beat a all metal gun...well, after handling the p30 and inspecting it thoroughly, I can say that I am very impressed with the craftsmanship. One of the reason I bought it was to see for myself what was all the HK hype about, now I know. The level of detail in every piece and part is impressive, not to mention the ergonomics, I tuned the grip to fir my hand perfectly mixing LARGE side straps with a SMALL back strap. It points better than anything else, perfectly balanced, I am overly impressed and I cannot wait to take it to the range and post how it felt.

Out of curiosity, where do you get parts for an HK here in Canada? I noticed that Wolverine supplies has some. I know that I won't need to replace the recoil spring for 15.000 rounds, so that is not going to happen for a while but what other parts should I be thinking of getting for preventive maintenance?

Thanks!

I got mine about a week ago, and love it. I've already decided to get an HK 45 too. This gun fits better than any gun I've owned. I had gone to the store to look at a USP, and just couldn't get interested in it. Then the guy suggested the P30L and it was instant Karma.

yes, I actually regret spending 11 hundred on my p226 (which I love, but in a different way). The p226 is like a cadillac whereas the P30 feels like a tuned Ferrari. Hard to explain with words. I literally can't wait to try this puppy in IDPA.

I order HK parts from Wolverine Supplies. It takes a while to get here so order lots. Recoil spring assemblies on HK P2000/P30 run about 20-25K round before replacement. Pick up spare roll pins, small springs, extractor and firing pin.

I heard that too, by dry firing it, I don't find the trigger any better or worse than my p226. The DA has a very defined break and it is not gritty or spongy at all, you know when it's going to break and the reset feels nice, it is a bit longer than the p226. I will have to fire a few hundred rounds to see for myself but I do not see myself hating it at all, to be fair and not biased due to the 'new toy disease', time will tell.

thank you very much. I will do that.

All of them? or just the P30 ?

These pistols are available in many, different trigger versions nowadays, so I can only speak for what I tried.
All the H&Ks that I had my hands on so far were absolutely wonderful quality pistols with horrendous, long and lousy triggers.
Not my cup of tea. That's actually why I decided to go with Walther PPQ instead.

I can understand the PPQ....best trigger on any firearm I've owned. I read the P30 DA takes some......getting used to.

PPQ is a great striker fired firearm, so if you wish to compare to the p30l DA/SA then you are comparing apples and oranges.
Let's not turn this post in a Real Madrid - Barcelona type of post but if you wish to compare the ppq to the p30 LEM then be my guest, and for that I invite you to open your own thread and post away about it.
This thread is about the P30L and where to find parts for it. Let's keep it useful.
Thank you Nestor.

I found the P30 trigger to have a long take up, and long reset. The standard SA/DA trigger on a tuned USP is actually better. The P30 is accurate, but for me it was harder to access that accuracy vs. the better trigger on a Walther P99 or PPQ.

I couldn't agree more, two different trigger systems. Each one has it's benefits, and both have their own challenges. Any striker fired handgun will be easier to shoot than a DA, but I am believer that the Da/Sa makes ME a better shooter; And it is for now my preferred platform.

I hear ya, I can't decide wich one I like best though.

I hear you I absolutely love shooting my 226 Enhanced Elite, but after shooting someone's H&K the other week I find my self wanting one (wich is odd because not a fan of polymere guns) but it shot and felt amazing. What was your reason to choose the model you did ? I shot a USP 9mm, did you get the P30L?
