Hi guys !

Just received my STI Target Master from Gunnar at Armco. Man, it's sweet. Finish is excellent but I'll reserve final judgement since it's my first Chrome from STI and I always found their bluing (I used to own a Trojan) to be wimpy. I'll update you on the chrome finish. I know some of you don't care for a 9mm 1911 but for its intended purpose for me (shooting targets at 20 yards), and since I handload 9mm's, I wanted a 9mm gun I would keep.

Thought the full guide rod would be a pain but so far, I don't mind. My only (and I'm nitpicking) anoyance is the way the Magwell melts with the frame (but I'm sure for a non-custom gun it's OK. I was expecting some TLC in that area). Like I said, I'm nitpicking. It's tight. It's real tight. Can't wait to see how my recipe for handloads react in that 6-inch beast. I was looking for something accurate and I'll tell you has soon as I can. The problem is, I live in Eastern Quebec and our Club is... under 2 feet of snow.:mad:

So far so good but only a real test drive will reveal if I made a wise choice... and you'll be the first to know, of course.

next stop, STI Tactical here I come !

I wanted a 1911 in 9mm and picked a Trojan.
I got it last week and it works perfectly.
Mine is for targets at 20 yds. also.
I reload for 9mm also.
Last week I loaded some 124 plated.
Today I've got some 147gr. plated to try out.
Tomorrow I'll try some 115gr.
You're going to love that pistol.
The hardchrome is beautiful.

I'm putting it up for sale ! Just kidding... My shooting partners have X5 and Smith and Wesson 952. Can't wait to see who'll come on top.

Used to have a Trojan also and used 115 gr, 121 and 124 also. Best results strangley were with the 115 gr and Tite Group powder...

I had to sell most of my rifles to get this one but I think it was worth the wait (5 months).

Can't wait to try it out !
 
STI are excellent shooters. Lots of guys are praising Tangfolio, especially for tactical shooting, but for me personally nothing bit 1911 frame.
