Hi guys !
Just received my STI Target Master from Gunnar at Armco. Man, it's sweet. Finish is excellent but I'll reserve final judgement since it's my first Chrome from STI and I always found their bluing (I used to own a Trojan) to be wimpy. I'll update you on the chrome finish. I know some of you don't care for a 9mm 1911 but for its intended purpose for me (shooting targets at 20 yards), and since I handload 9mm's, I wanted a 9mm gun I would keep.
Thought the full guide rod would be a pain but so far, I don't mind. My only (and I'm nitpicking) anoyance is the way the Magwell melts with the frame (but I'm sure for a non-custom gun it's OK. I was expecting some TLC in that area). Like I said, I'm nitpicking. It's tight. It's real tight. Can't wait to see how my recipe for handloads react in that 6-inch beast. I was looking for something accurate and I'll tell you has soon as I can. The problem is, I live in Eastern Quebec and our Club is... under 2 feet of snow.
So far so good but only a real test drive will reveal if I made a wise choice... and you'll be the first to know, of course.
next stop, STI Tactical here I come !
