Just lost 2 pets to coyotees

I'm in Port Credit and have seen more Coyotes in town than out of town.
Mineola & Stavebank 5pm
Dundas & 427 630pm
Hurontario & QEW 6pm
Archery range by the science center with cubs 3pm
Those yellow eyed bastards are safer in town than out there and they know it.

Wow... I stay at the Hilton on Hurontario near the QEW frequently an dthought I was losing my marbles when I saw one across from the hotel in the field.....

Had a coyote stalking my dog, so I bought a super bright flashlight & a spear, just in case. They don't seem to like the flashlight, lol! By laws give them far too much protection.

Ilderton is in the Township of Middlesex Centre. There's a no discharge by-law that includes bows of any kind, in certain areas. Appears to be the built up areas of the Township.
Shooting a coyote will cost you 5 grand and likely your PAL. Unless you're on a farm protecting your livestock or a farmer's designate or don't live in the restricted areas on the map. Pets aren't livestock. Shooting at night will very likely get you arrested regardless.

I would suggest you call the municipality and see if they can get someone to trap them. Worse case I hear London On. Has a beaver problem and don't want them trapped. Maybe relocate them there.

I have a llama on duty here day & nite . Puts the run on um pretty good if they dare come close .

We have been losing some chickens, but to a Racoon. So I'll looking to rectify that ASAP, looking into a trailcam that will boot pic's realtime to an i-phone.
Wake up, roll outa bed, shotgun and boots, flashlight and boom.

Sounds like my situation. I've lost one this week. Set up sensor lights and ordered a flashlight bracket for my 870. I got out there seconds too late. Coon ran off but left poor "lucky" headless next to the coop. Kids took the loss rather well and I got "the look" from the wife when I said I guess he wasn't so lucky.

It depends on your county some counties call in a cull or classify as pests. For example im 89% sure the md of bonnyville was paying for cyotes and wolves. Or in the case of boars in Alberta are pests. Aka shoot them like gophers. Or if all else fails phone fish and wildlife and let them deal with it

My condolences on the loss of your pets.

For those coyote hunters, Im headed out tomorrow and Saturday late afternoon til end of legal time with my new FoxPro Hellfire. I had planned on using distressed rabbit, or distressed pup to bring them in.

Any other suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks
