Merry Christmas to all!

I'm so embarassed I started this thread!!!!!:redface::redface:

Do you want to know why I'm buying an Outlaw? (if you don't want to know then stop reading and move on, free will and choice are wonderful things).

It's simple, because I can.....I don't need one. "Need" is the deceptive rationale of the anti's - "Why do you need a gun?" (with the underlying false assumption that there are grocery stores for food, lawn bowling for recreation and police for protection). The same argument could be applied of course to any item. Why do you need a car when there is public transport, why do you need a pool when there is one at the local community centre, why do you need a cell phone when there are phone booths? "Need" can be used to justify taking away anything.

I don't need an Outlaw and fortunately (at least for the time being) I don't need to justify why.....I just want one.

I own firearms that are tools that get used (and abused), repaired and eventually sold. (as an aside, firearms are probably one of the most durable implements we use. How many of us still shoot firearms that were designed and manufactured 100 or more years ago? How many of us have actually worn out a firearm? How many other products that you now own have the same longevity?)

I own firearms purely for their rarity, that are seldom or never shot.

I own firearms that have sentimental value.

I own firearms for sport and recreation.

I own firearms because I can.

More specifically, the Outlaw allows me to legally own a type of firearm that was previously out of my reach - a short barrelled shotgun. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes. Case closed.

We are fortunate to live in a time and place where we still have the ability to earn an income (pay taxes to our masters on that income) and then be free to spend it as we see fit on a wide range of goods and services.

I don't care where it's made. I don't care how long it will last. And I don't care what it is suited for. I can own it, therefore I will. (And let's not kid ourselves. With the registry in place and property rights verboten to Canadians, that ownership is merely temporary, until such time as our political masters revoke it).

If one of the above criteria is a concern, then the answer is simple....don't buy one! Use your hard earned after tax dollars on something else.

We may have differences of opinion amongst ourselves on which firearms we choose to own, but remember there are many who through deliberate hatred, fear or ignorance want to take away your ability to own any firearms at all.

I am not sure why you are embarrassed about starting this thread? I do not know you're exact reason, but maybe it was not much different than mine was for making my own outlaw about 40 years ago. I wanted a bad assed gun, just that I did not know it was bad assed then.:D And just because I could. Then I was a little more bad assed because I actually broke the law and did not just import it already bad assed. In those days, I would only have been charged if I did a bank job with it or something similar and I was no way I was that bad assed:D I only kept it as a truck gun and for my ski doo before shooting coyotes from an atv was frowned upon. BTW it did not work well for that and I bought a colt ar-15 with a 20 mag. My buddy bought that from Barotto sports in Calgary with no registration needed. It worked fine but I wasted too much ammo just playing with it. I continued by coyote shooting with a 6-.284 which slowed me down a bit and I got more coyotes. I am still not that old that I would not enjoy being bad assed but with all these cheapie imports that there will be so many of you bad asses out there that there is really not much more now than a fad.;)

BTW I read your post all the way through and I do understand.

I certainly respect your opinion but I do not think it is appropriate to purposefully misquote me as you have done above.

If your opinion is that owning an Outlaw is to "to take away your ability to own any firearms at all", then state it but do not ascribe it to me please.

Appologize for that. That is not what I intended. I intended to delete your enitre post after the question mark. I thought I did, but I missed your last line. I am not very good with word processin and quote tags etc. so my mistake. I will try to edit.

I think that my edit went as I intended. I appologize to you and to this entire thread, because it turned my entire response into an accusation of the worst sort. My screw up.

No foul, no harm. Thank you, Sir.

I think this is a good example of the quality of individuals that make up the firearms community. And to think that we are second class citizens in the eyes of many is a tragedy.
