Do you want to know why I'm buying an Outlaw? (if you don't want to know then stop reading and move on, free will and choice are wonderful things).
It's simple, because I can.....I don't need one. "Need" is the deceptive rationale of the anti's - "Why do you need a gun?" (with the underlying false assumption that there are grocery stores for food, lawn bowling for recreation and police for protection). The same argument could be applied of course to any item. Why do you need a car when there is public transport, why do you need a pool when there is one at the local community centre, why do you need a cell phone when there are phone booths? "Need" can be used to justify taking away anything.
I don't need an Outlaw and fortunately (at least for the time being) I don't need to justify why.....I just want one.
I own firearms that are tools that get used (and abused), repaired and eventually sold. (as an aside, firearms are probably one of the most durable implements we use. How many of us still shoot firearms that were designed and manufactured 100 or more years ago? How many of us have actually worn out a firearm? How many other products that you now own have the same longevity?)
I own firearms purely for their rarity, that are seldom or never shot.
I own firearms that have sentimental value.
I own firearms for sport and recreation.
I own firearms because I can.
More specifically, the Outlaw allows me to legally own a type of firearm that was previously out of my reach - a short barrelled shotgun. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes. Case closed.
We are fortunate to live in a time and place where we still have the ability to earn an income (pay taxes to our masters on that income) and then be free to spend it as we see fit on a wide range of goods and services.
I don't care where it's made. I don't care how long it will last. And I don't care what it is suited for. I can own it, therefore I will. (And let's not kid ourselves. With the registry in place and property rights verboten to Canadians, that ownership is merely temporary, until such time as our political masters revoke it).
If one of the above criteria is a concern, then the answer is simple....don't buy one! Use your hard earned after tax dollars on something else.
We may have differences of opinion amongst ourselves on which firearms we choose to own, but remember there are many who through deliberate hatred, fear or ignorance want to take away your ability to own any firearms at all.
