Just ordered my Tavor today the waiting game begins

Anyone notice when you ride the charging handle, it sometimes doesn't ####? I was just dry firing it, and riding thecharging handle so I don't wake my son up, and it wouldn't #### sometimes. When I use the bolt release, or let the charging handle fly on it's own it cocks every time.

Maybe i just have to break it in, she's a little tight right now.

No man you can't ever ride the charging handle especially when the rifle is cold. Even my first gen after 2k rounds doesn't like to have any resistance when charging the rifle. Its especially bad if you use a lubricant that is rather thick for the temperature outside.

I just tried with mine, and it doesn't seem to have a problem. Though, with a loaded mag, if you pull the chargeing handle back to chamber a round, it will most likley jam.
Bolt release, or nothing. Which to me, makes sence.

Dear God the agony! I got home just a little late to make it to the post office before it closed - and sure enough, there is my package slip. Now I have to wait until Monday!

A lot of the drop off spots are contracted. For example Shoppers drug mart. They are often open on Saturday and or open late during the regular week days. You might want to check it out. Or wait until Monday if you really want. Just think those extra sleepless nights will make you appreciate all that much more. If you're into that type of self torture....

good to know. I dry fired it a bunch more and it cocks every time when riding the charging handle, when I go real slow with the bolt, you hear an audible click when the bolt is almost 100% closed, and that's when it cocks.

I wouldn't ride the handle home when out shooting, but found this interesting. Will have to get to know the rifle design a bit better.

Mepro is better than I thought. Wash out is worst when going from very far room to bright background. Mine have BUIS. Will have to get out to the range tomorrow

?????

To M. Throttle_monkey1, I have a question, why the side mounted rear sight on your XCR :confused::confused:

ho, wait a minute, it's just to put it someplace while your scope is on...?

:D

Yeah I needed somewhere to put it. The scope is too low, cuz I had it on my m305 with an arms 18 mount.

Question for tavor guys- how are you setting up the sling? Does someone make a sling mountfor the stock?

That "click" sound is the op rod being locked fullly into place, thus closing the bolt.
That problem, isn't really a problem. Pull the charging handle on any rifle (or handgun) back 1/8 of an inch, same thing will happen.
When I first got mine, I thought the same thing.

If you think the new Mepro is bad, you should see the 1st gen one's. :puke:

Thanks for the info Justin,

the one rifle wasn't clicking at all the first few times, I had to slap the butt of the stock, now after dry firing, it's better, and it only occurred when riding the charging handle. Op rod locking eh? I thought it was the bolt locking into the lugs, and wouldn't fire out of battery.

Yes, it is locking. Look at your op rod in battery, then pull it back an 1/8th of an inch. There is a notch there, that is the sound you hear.

Hey Guys, can someone measure their Tavor for me? I need the "Top to Bottom" height to know if it will fit in a soft case I just got at Lebaron's...

IIRC, someone said the rifle is 29.75 inches long from nose to tail...

Cheers & Thanks!
Jay

I could measure how tall it is in a couple hours when i get home Jay.

Thanks Throttle_monkey1. I know it will fit lengthwise, so I'm looking forward to finding out if it will fit in the other dimension, top to bottom. ie from the top of the Mepro sight to the bottom of the pistol grip...

Cheers
Jay

Jay... I ended up getting a 38" padded case from Marstar - Length wasn't really the issue, but certainly height was. The Tavor is thick, so it takes a bit of material to wrap around it and the optic....good luck with the leBaron case...Hope it works.

Cheers
