Just ordered my Tavor today the waiting game begins

Just got my Tavor in today. For a luddite-like-curmudgeon, I am impressed!

This is the first bull pup I have molested,,, and it feels good. Balances nicely and pulls naturally into the shoulder. The height of the cheekweld and eyeline is good.
I have the non-railed version so I have the iron sights still, and they line up with the mepro fine.

The mepro might take some getting used to though.

It really is short for a good barrel length yet.

Time to go find the thread about how to install the firing pin and tie myself in knots with the sling.

The sling is sweet once set up. Run the string through the loop on the side of rifle. Tie a bowline knot, hook loop of knot through clip thing on sling.

Run the string from the other end of the sling into the hole in the stock, then tie a knot and slide it into the clip on the sling.

Wow, I don't doubt that your instructions are perfectly accurate, but I just can't visualize it at all. I'll have to re-read this when I am at home and have all the components in front of me. Also, it would probably help if I unpacked the sling and actually looked at it first;) With the foggy brain I'm sporting at the moment, I probably couldn't follow a video presentation, never mind text instructions.

Got it Got it Got it................yeeeeha!

ADM Scout scope mount incoming for my TR24G scope.

Cool, the rail has a built in BUIS.

The Mepro is nice, but does wash out like my Trijicon Reflex sight does, but the circle / dot reticle is nice, will be replaced with my 1-4x24 scope.

Here's my new Tavor TAR-21 with an Elcan Spectre DR SOCOM/killflash.
It's mounted on a '999' rail so I still have the BUIS as well.

The new factory rail also has a built in flip-up BUIS, the front sight has tritium but the rear one seems to have holes for the vials but the holes are empty.

I better take a closer look. I didn't see it
My front sight does have the tritium. I think I'll be taking a closer look for the BUIS. Also I didn't check, but is the firing pin not installed on these ones? I thought this batch came with the pin installed?

Ahh ok found the BUIS. I just finished my work week so I didn't get a chance to look it over much in the last few days. Yup no tritium only two empty spots for the rear sight.

Im just in from dumping 260 rds thru mine. I can assure you the firing pin is installed :D. Nice gun, weird triggerpul that I hope softens up. I still need to figure out how the thing works cause I think it just needs a good lube. Although the backup sights are adequate, you cant see crap with the Meprolight doing its thing. Everyone who looks at it treats me like I'm Evil or something and shrugs their shoulders saying it should be Prohib, not Non Restricted.

I hope the next batch comes with a Shut the Fck Up button installed so I can tell Fudd's to press it...kind of like the glock in the movie Law Abiding Citizen.

The only concern I have is that the Roll pin on the carrier seems to be loose...that contacts the gas tube area. When I cleaned it, the pin almost fell completely out before I noticed it. Should I be putting in a new roll pin???

Can someone take pics of how the hell I install the sling!!! Pulling my hair out here!!! UGH!!!

Also, I picked up a soft Browning case that JUST fits the Tavor. Got it at Lebaron's in Ottawa... You want to see some wide eyed guys! HA HA HA, I walked into the store with the Tavor in a plastic bag... Said, "I need a case for this..." Everyone was very interested in the "Space Gun"!!! And, of course the 10 round LAR 15 mags... Man 'oh Man, the Tavor is BADA$$!!!

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Thanks in advance!

Blaxsun, your Tavor looks very nice with the DR! But where is the MAG!?

You can buy night sights and get the vials that way. I used CLEAR nail polish to seal them, worked like a charm.

How are you running the remote switch ??

Refer to Canam's "The Tavor" post from 2 years ago. I posted pictures of what I did very close to the end of the thread.
I cut a very small notch, just big enough for the tail cap to go into the handgaurd. Which connected to the pressure switch of the Tavor, located on the left hand side.

Edit, here you go;
