just right carbine what are your feelings

I work at the Canadian Tire in Belleville, and the gun section has a JR Carbine...it is one of the newer ones, and I believe they have already sold one. I fondled it a few times and while it isn't the prettiest gun, it seems quite solid. I may break down and buy one; like others said, there just isn't a ton of options in non restricted black guns that can take 10 round mags and are semi auto, and under $1000.

A Canadian Tire that still sells real guns!?
Cool.

I have a first gen one in 9mm and have not had one problem with it. I love my JR and wouldn't sell it for anything

I love mine in 9mm. Never had any real issues with it. It jamed a few times untill we (me and JRC) figured out it had an older buffer in it. installed the new one and its ran like a champ ever since. just rolled past the first 1000 rounds with no real signs of wear. When I first got it I cleaned it religiously. Ive decided to see how long it will g owithout a cleaning, so far, 500 rounds and all is well.

I think the high points are effin pug fugly..

ya I thought they were all restricted..which might not to so bad, less people would see you with it lol jk

stop thinking and just buy the jr, if you dont like it you can re sell on the EE

I'm having real problems with my .40 right now. Four different styles of jams with multiple kinds of ammunition. It's at the 400 round mark or so, so I would think broken in.

1. I'm having the hammer follow the bolt forward about 5% of the time. No trigger reset and no primer marks.
2. about 10% of the time, the last round does not eject, and I end up with a stovepipe.
3. Sometimes the round (doesn't matter what brand) doesn't complete the loading cycle and I have to give the cocking handle a push. I've tried different levels of lube, all the way to no lube.
4. I have got the JR version of "bolt over base".

Sure would like to figure this out, it's a neat little carbeen.
Firing off a mag with no issues happens about 2 out of 5 mags.

if the hammer is folowing the bolt then its not all up to date. Mine was supposed to be, had all the bolt updates but still had the old buffer. I some times get the last round stove pipe, but who cares, gotta re #### for the next mag, or I avoid it compleatly by swaping mags befor fireing the last shot.

Im not sure I know what you mean by bolt over base...Whats that lol?
Have you taken a look at your feed ramp? what are the rounds hanging up on to keep it from feeding properly?
.....annnd, have you talked to JRC regarding the problem? I sent them an email and they called me the next day, great people to deal with.

Well I've had it for two days and working during the day, shooting in the evening. I'll be calling them when I can...
Bolt over base - the bolt rides over the base of the round and gets hung up midway through the brass. I have four different mags I've been using.

you mean its not always striping a round? or its getting hung up on a round in the mag as it strips a fresh one? does it jam up at any point? or more so when the mag is full?
