JW 25a

Bolt on mine was really rough, working it was not exactly fun. Finish was barely so...so, accuracy wasn't anything to brag about. Not worth it. Savage is 3 times better rifle...and I don't even like Savage all that much.

Here's what I've got so far. Just got a couple coats of diluted BLO on it at the moment, gonna start with 100% BLO in a couple of days after giving it enough time to dry. Anyone got any ideas for fixing the rattling handguard? I linked a video below.

For rattling handguard I use waxes piece of carboard ether between wood and handguard ring or barrel and handguard.Sometimes one way works better than other, sometimes it doesn't matter.

Hard part is figuring out how thick and how big that piece has to be to stay in place semi-permanently withoult putting strain on wood.

Advantage of this method is it can always be removed and changed if needed.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot once I'm completely done the refinishing.

I was going to buy one when Canada ammo had them on sale but I found a k98 israeli .22 trainer. It shoots awesome and will only go up on value. But I’m still keeping an eye out for a norinco jw25a. Maybe when the next batch comes in from China I might pick one up.

I picked one up about a year ago brand new from M****** like a few others here. I love it. It has some quirks, like the safety doesn't engage which is not an issue for me because i don't rely on safeties. And the rifle is a bit heavy, but it shoots super accurate. I mounted a scope on mine, and I found some extra tall mounts on ebay. Since I'm a K98 collector, this one appealed to me especially considering the price of the ammo compared to shooting 8mm.

Same with mine. I'm gonna try polishing it a bit to see if that's all that's needed to get the safety working, but if I need to remove some material so be it.

Got any pics of the scoped setup? I'm thinking of putting an optic on mine, but I've got the model with the bent bolt handle which makes things a little tricky.
