I just got home from my hunting trip,the JW15 a 'backpacker'served very handily for putting grouse in the pot...the shorter barrel is louder but we were using 'quiet' 22 shells so it didn't matter.I think the subsonic shells might even be more accurate.....
Same here; got two of them grouses today within 10 minutes - very rare. JW-20 was the perpetrator... Aguila subsonics. They really shot good out of that gun.
I switched to subsonic shells very accurate for head shots typically 25 yards or less potting grouse and the bonus is you don't advertise your precence if you are looking for a deer .And if you really want to keep it quiet,the longer barrels 22's are no louder than an air rifle when using 'quiet' ammunition
If you're looking for a 'name brand' rifle,this ain't it,but if you're looking for a utilitarian rifle thats functional, and accurate if you hold it straight, you won't be disappointed. Nobody brags about owning a chineses knockoff ,but they won't let you down, they get the job done and at a very reasonable cost.I think I have about 5 of them now

Mine was a bit stiff when I got it. But after shooting a bit and breaking everything in, it became more reasonable.
And then I basically never use it. Old habit from field shooting - if I have a live round in the chamber, I "pop" the bolt handle up (but leave it otherwise closed). The gun is in a very safe condition that way (can't be fired), and instead of fiddling with a small safety lever or button, I just have to slap the bolt handle down to be ready to fire again.
The only reason I worked the safety in on my JW15A is that I like to make sure everything works fine on every gun I own, on general principle.
I never use a safety either...nor do I put a shell in the chamber before I'm ready to fire it...but a simple fix to a stiff safety is a dab of toothpaste ( basically an abrasive paste ) and working it back and forth to polish it .Then rinse and oil
To be clear, normally I carry on an empty chamber, or spent shell. But there are times when I load a shot then the shot I was going to make disappears down a gopher hole (literally). When that happens, I "pop" the bolt.
I finally have sorted some pictures of my JW15A-13. I mounted a DIP Picatinny 3/8" 0 MOA rail, Burris steel rings and a Leupold 4x Rimfire scope with Butler Creek flip up scope covers. I add on a Triad Tactical Modular Stock Pack with a an Accessory Strip and Magpul Tactical MS1 Padded Multi-Mission Gun Sling System in Coyote brown to match the stock pack. I had a number of used steel Brno 10 round magazine (they were made by Brno when I bought them at the time) and put the cheap Norinco 5 rounder aside. Some easy shopping on eBay resulted in a knock off Harris bipod, a cleaning kit (brass rod no less), "Rifle Sling Screw Studs Base Uncle Mike's Swivel Studs Fits Most Rifle & Shotgun" x 2 to replace the sling swivels that came with the rifle, a "M4 33" Green Rifle Gun Case Bag Tactical Hunting Air Target Range Airsoft PB250G" a "Hunting Swivel Picatinny Slot adaptor Kit Weaver Rail Sling Stud Mount For Bipod" so I could mount my final purchase a small but bright pistol flash light. I made use of an old canvas tool kit (it may have been for Garand or M14) which allowed me to store 3 magazine in the Airsoft carrying case; the other 4 being 3 in the stock pack and one in the rifle.
I actually like the set up quite a but and have been shooting it more than anything else of late and my off hand shooting has improved. The reliability has been first rate and any issues are magazine related, I have to tweak the magazine follower on a few magazines to correct any issues. Accuracy as other have reported is very good and I can hit a loonie sized bit of sporting clay at 75 yards off hand so that's pretty good for me.The only downside is that with normal and high speed ammo it's very, very loud so ear protecting would be required in a hunting environment but obviously not an issue on the range since hearing protection is worn in any case. Due to the angle of the fore end the flash light point a little 'up' but still illuminates to the front rather well (zombies beware). With the M4 33'" case makes for a handy bag for the vehicle or the range although if you filled all the available pockets it'd become heavy...
