Having gotten pretty tired of staring at the ugly visage of my JW25A, I decided that it needed a make over. I stripped off that toxic paste crap varnish stuff that the Chinese slathered all over the wood (I used Circa 1850 stripper). Then I sanded the last of the remaining stain out and got the stock butter smooth with 0000 steel wool. Now, time to break out the Tru-Oil. After each coat, I waited till it dried and then hit it with a tack cloth and some 0000 steel wool. After 5 coats, here is what that Norinco looks like.
