I finally got to shoot my K31 on the weekend. I have had it for 2 years, but never got around to shooting it, so I used it at the ORA Sporting Rifle Shoot. I shot it at 200 yards, and it was quite accurate.
But I discovered a problem. The empties try to eject straight up and hit a small ledge on the ring base and then bounce back into the open action.
The no-drill scope base mounts on the right action rail. It has a dovetail for the scope rings to attach to. The rings are a one piece set that are part of a steel rail with a dovetail to fit the base.
The ring base sticks out above the action by about 1/10” of an inch. Just enough to bounce the empties back into the action.
I took the scope off and used a file to bevel 1/8” off the part of the scope base causing the problem. I just used a file.
Today I test fired the rifle and the empties eject perfectly.
