My serial number dates mine from 1942, but 41 is engraved under the butt plate.
Stock were made, dated, then aged/kiln dried, checked for warpage and cracks, THEN mated to a receiver and given that receiver's serial number.

As of last weekend the Calgary Shooting Centre had about a half dozen in stock. Good condition overall, not pitted as bad as some that I've seen. They were also carrying the bayonets that sold separately. Cheers
