K31 Useful Information

Cool, thanks for the info. Hopefully tapping on it will be good enough so I dont have to go and get a nut splitter lol.

The idea is that you get a smaller size Cr*ppy Tire nut splitter and remove the 'chisel' point, leaving a flat face that impinges on the foresight blade. NOT use it as bought, right?

Only from collectors. Even Swiss club shooters are not likely to have their own. Just maybe the club's Schützenmeister who's responsible for the equipment.

They are not needed on a regular basis anymore. The universal use of diopters in Swiss matches, once diopters were allowed, made them obsolete.

May get lucky and get one from Calgary shooting center, if they can find one at Swiss gun shows.

Wow, thats pricey. Nut splitter it is then...
And how about if elevation is off. Is the only solution getting the lower/higher sight posts? Im guessing those arent cheap neither.

Yup. They are about USD$15 or so. Perhaps there might be some in Canada? Diopter will know for sure.

On the other paw, you COULD just bite the bullet and treat yourself to one of SP's spiffy new diopter sight sets, especially now they have a foresight with lateral adjustment....

I dunno about that SP outfit. .... but I do hear that a new 1911 Sight Blade Shifter will be available in about two weeks.

Where is everyone getting their GP11?

I was in Calgary Shooting Center a couple of weeks ago and they had several crates on display. Long way from Brampton though...

Personally, I scour the EE all the time and look for it whenever it goes up for sale locally. Usually I can get it for a really good price (60 cents per round or better I consider pretty damn good).
