K31

My experience with any of the cold blues is that they are okay for a screw or two but that's about it. What you need too do is rust blue. Very easy with exceptional results. You can use a cardboard box as a rust chamber. You need to boil the parts after rusting but you can even just scald them with boiling distilled water. Mountain Forge brand even works through finger prints.

As an aside, the 'piled arms' of three rifles is the well-known trademark of the BSA [Birmingham Small Arms] Company. But you all knew that already, right?

Also, the trade-name of the BSA brand airgun pellets - 'Pylarme'.

Bolt sleeve replaced in the field or after service life. Very hard surface. Don't drop on concrete or pave stones

Armorers would electro-pencil the rifle's serial # on the replacement sleeve.

Since blueing has been brought up
has anyone tried Blue Wonder?

I did some time ago. Doesn't work as near as easy or as good as the sales pitch video on the net shows. Plus compared to other cold blues, it is a pain in the a--. This is just my opinion and maybe others like it.
But, unless just a small part or touch up, I now only do slow rust bluing. Much, much superior and it is very durable and it lasts.

Thank you Diopter!
The pics of the swiss target really make more sense now. And your assessment of the FTF due to an out of battery situation may indeed be exactly the issue. Thankfully the Swiss understood this issue and created a fail safe mode. Otherwise......

I forgot to mention that the trigger on the K31 is truly a work of art. Two stage goodness. Beautifully crisp, superb in every way. It felt like the triggers on my TRG'S.
How is that for amazing? A 70 year old milsurp with a trigger to compete with a precision rifle.

I will be getting my list of accessories that I want to order completed very soon. I am just trying to sort out what is a need and what is a want.
Does anyone have any experience using the bipod adapter? I prefer to shoot from a Bipod whenever possible, but the mounting location seems unusual. Any K31 owners please feel free to add your thoughts.

Kind regards and All the best in 2015!

Not sure If I replied to bi-pod question.
