Kamloops - 300M "Frosty Farky" match

There are a number of very similar wildcats that more or less equal a 6-22/250 AI. They all have similar performance and a much better case volume to push the 115/120gr bullets then the 6BR family.

Brass of the Lapua is quite expensive so may not be as well received as the XC and others. We shall see.

Hi Calvin,

Yes I did. It looks very impressive, but in it's unfettered form, the 6.5X47 is impressive too, without the decrease in barrel life. I think my next 6mm would likely be a dasher, but alas my wallet is far smaller than my imagination. Jerry's 6.5 is a show stopper as well.

Thanks for the #, I will get in touch immediately!

Cheers,

We are rapidly coming to new standards for different LR F class shooting.

For 600m and shorter, the 6BR/wildcats and longer XC/Lapua/22250AI cases are it. For the 6.5, cases like the Mystic and smaller Lapua are all that is needed.

For out to 1000m, the XC/Lapua/22250AI in 6mm and heavy bullets will go head to head against the Mystic/284/Swede 6.5's. The 47L is a smidge small for the 139/142gr bullets even at BR pressures.

The interest in 7mm will likely be limited to those shooting 600m and further as recoil is way more then necessary vs the ballistic advantage at short range.

until someone figures out new bullets, maybe in a different cal (25 cal is ideal), that is it for the near future. Pick your poison, and go practise.
