I was waiting for someone to offer a modern single mag tube bullpup shotgun platform.

Not crazy about the carry handle, but at least it can be replaced with a KSG rail.

Not crazy about Kel-Tec either, but hopefully other companies will be inspired to offer something similar.
 
Wish they would have done something to make it easier to load. That is my biggest qualm about the KSG.

If it was easier to load and offering in a NR 13.7" tac model like the KSG tac, it would be perfect for my needs on the farm for putting down maimed porcupines or rabits as a result of farming operations.

The action and loading mechanics looks similar to an Ithaca 37, so ease of loading shouldn't be a particular problem, certainly easier than any of the dual tube bullpups.

How so? I know there are exceptions but generally this stands:

Restricted firearm* means:

a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,
a firearm that
is not a prohibited firearm,
has a barrel less than 470 mm in length, and
is capable of discharging centre-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner,
a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or
a firearm of any other kind that is prescribed to be a restricted firearm in the Regulations Prescribing Certain Firearms and other Weapons, Components and Parts of Weapons, Accessories, Cartridge Magazines, Ammunition and Projectiles as Prohibited, Restricted or Non-Restricted.

It's at least 26" long {like the regular and NR versions of the KSG} as not to be subject to NFA laws in the U.S. market, so we're good as far as nonrestricted length goes.

Ok but it's not accepted across the board as the law is a tad ambiguous there. There is a comma but it then states "a firearm" and "otherwise" Basically we don't know if it will be designated as restricted until an FRT is issued for it as many short barreled shotguns are restricted because they're under 26" OAL.

All I'm saying is it's not a given that it will be NR out of the chute.

Going from a 15rd KSG to 7rd KSG I would think is the wrong way to go... I would improve the features of the current model keeping the 15rd.... You save 2lbs but loose 7rd... I'll stick with my Gen 4 UTS-15 any day over a KSG.....

You also lose out when it comes to reliability, pump effort, bulk, price and ease of loading with a twin tube design.

If that weren't the case then you'd see other than a handful of niche manufacturers offering them.

The only thing that matters for NR in a pump gun is whether it has a collapsing or folding stock.

No folding/collapsing stock, no length minimum. There are many examples of this, including the KSG in its smallest form. (the tac or whatever it's called)

Pistol grip only shotguns with very short barrels are often R, but if it has a full stock then overall length does not matter.

No reliability issues here if that’s what u mean... ksg works just as good...
