Kel-Tec RDB Bullpup: My First Impressions

They've also openly discussed discontinuing the RFB in favour of a .308 RDB. It's an internal debate right now, with varying arguments for an against.

Personally I think they should keep the RFB, but also produce a .308 SR-25 mag patterns RDB.

Kinda like gm selling a camaro and firebird... but I think they should keep both, I Don't see a 308 rdb being as compact as the rfb due to the over travel of the bolt, I fact wouldn't we be talking about ridicules lenght of pull?

Nice review. Thanks for that. As to the rifles themselves I don't see myself grabbing one. I already have enough NR bullpups. Now if the price was around $1500 and our dollar wasn't tanking I might consider one...who knows?

standard barrel length on the RDB?

will they be making a 'Canadian' version for NR status?

don't know how much time you had to pick their brains about that stuff

Factory barrel length was 18" and yes, I asked them if they planned on adding an extra half inch for the Northern neighbours.

Chad @ Kel-Tec was great: "We usually build a special weird-ass model for you Canadians. I'm sure we'll be doing with same with this."

Interesting. I have always been wary of Kel-Tec's, but I can see myself getting a 7.62x39 Non-Restricted RDB if it took AK mags. However, I doubt they would redesign it for AK mags. Probably would just use AR-style 7.62x39 mags.

Double the prices for a gun that will no longer be supported by Kel Tec (if Kel Tec is actually discontinuing it)?
that is how supply and demand works, I have sold quite a few no longer produced firearms for much more than they retailed for while they were available, some within weeks of purchase.

Cool. Thanks for the first look. Always interested in what's new. Was just wondering what type of bolt system these use? Tilting block like the RFB or rotating/locking bolt like Tavor? Thanks

They didn't come up with much. Bullpup rifles that eject out the bottom have been on the market for years.
I'm a little overdone after a long day but I can't think of one. The Tavor, AUG, T97, FAMAS and L85A2 are all side eject, and the FS2000 and RFB are front eject. What ones am I missing?

I think he is reffering to the fn p90. But in all fairness yes the p90 ejects out the bottom but it feeds from the top. The rdb feed from the bottom and also ejects from the bottom.

Ah yes, the P90. I should've remembered that one. But doesn't the RFB push them out the front?
