7.62 mm NATO
KEL-TEC RFB 7.62 mm HIGH EFFICIENCY RIFLE
INTRODUCTION
RFB stands for Rifle Forward ejection Bullpup. This
concept, enhanced by an improved tilting block breech,
gains over a foot of additional barrel length over a
conventional rifle.
Furthermore, the stock and mechanism cross-section
is similar to a conventional rifle, in stark contrast to the
bulky bullpup rifles existing today.
DESCRIPTION
The RFB is a gas-operated semi-automatic rifle in
7.62 mm NATO (.308 Win) caliber. It accepts standard
FAL type magazines. Barrel options include 18", 24",
and 32". Twist 10" or 11.25".
All controls are fully ambidextrous; the reciprocating
operating handle can be switched to either side. The
trigger mechanism has up to five individual
adjustment parameters. The dual action safety disconnects
the trigger and blocks the hammer action.
A MilSpec picatinny rail is attached rigidly to the
barrel. No iron sights are provided. A free floating,
four sided picatinny forend or bipod can be attached
directly to the barrel.
Technical specifications Target Sporter Carbine
Weight unloaded lbs 11.3 8.7 8.1
Length " 40 32 26
Barrel length " 32 24 18
Magazine 10 or 20 Metric FAL
Magazine loaded (10 rds) lbs 0.85
Muzzle energy ftlbs 3050 2800 2500
The improved ballistic efficiency of the RFB rifle derives
from a very long barrel increasing muzzle velocity over
10% when compared to similar size rifles.
The long range improvement is even more pronounced
with a heavier bullet at normal velocity. An M110 SASS
shoots a 175 gr projectile at 2500 fps.The RFB will fire
a 210 gr bullet at the same velocity, resulting in 65%
more knockdown energy at 1000 m. At the same
distance the wind deflection is reduced to 72%.
This ballistic performance is superior to a traditional 300
Win Magnum and closely approaches a 338 Lapua.
Patent Pending

Yup we pretty much heard of this about a year ago. Let us pray the US state department lets this puppy through. But we also need a dealer to carry the product as well. Dealers are you listening we want this rifle please try to bring it in.

ummm, KEL-TEC and the words HIGH EFFICIENCY dont belong together. Now if it was called the KEL-TEC GARBAGE then that would be allright???

Yes most of what Kel-tec has produced has been of questionable quality. But Kel-tec is claiming they have boosted their standards and quality control to levels of some of the elite companies. Until we see it, it will remain to be seen. Just have to wait and see I guess.

I don't know about Kel-Tec quality but I do like the specs. If it worked as stated with a 24" barrel I'd buy one just to be the first kid on the block.

Change the official literature, leaving out references to 7.62 NATO and FAL and it just might fly here. It's a good selling point in the land of the free, but in the land of the variant gods, we may not be so lucky.:(

It has nothing to do with FAL - the reference of the liberature is equivalent to saying G36 is an AR18 becasue G36 uses a short stroke system. Just because it uses a breech block doesn't mean it is a FAL variant. Instead of saying breech block that no one understands what it is, it is easier to tell people it works like a FAL. I won't worry about it too much - the people at RCMP are way way way smarter than that.

Ummm GT, I didn't say it was an FAL variant. I was referring to the fact that the literature states it takes standard FAL type mags. The people at the RCMP may be smart, but you nor any member here can tell how they think:p
