Kel-tec SU16

I can't stand it. Can one of you two tell me exactly what I need to get that extended rail? Is it mounted on top of the existing SU15 top rail? I want to scrap everything I have, the free floating looks righteous.

Yes sir it's mounted on the su16's rail, so you slide it over the barrel and then attach it on the su16 scope rail and it free floats there.
patrick found some airsoft ones that are cheap and work. The brand name one is like $200!

Oh I hope to find time! I've had a stressful week at work and that idea was in my head. What time you normally there?

@Lone-wolf.. yeah I was just looking at CASV airsoft rails just now and was wondering: was it really that simple?

Silveragent Sunday get ready and I will meet you up @ Poco. Cause its my B-day & I am blasting.
:ar15:
Happy early bday!! A day at Burke could be fun.

Silver it really is quite simple. I can disassemble the frt rail in minutes if you'd like to see how it works?? They prefer you not to take your guns apart at the range but I can bring it somewhere more suitable if you'd like. Are you any where close to Port Coquitlam??

Here's a link to the one I have on my rifle. There's 2 ribs at the frt that need to be filed a bit but the material is easy to go through so only took me 10 mins with a file. It goes on really easy and does indeed mount over the SU-16 rail.

P@rick, already found that one. Does look pretty simple and if it doesn't fit I have a dremel. I'll put that on order now.

I don't know for sure but if either of you are at Poco let me know what time

It will go on as is but it ends up curving upwards until you take a bit of material out of the frt 2 ribs.

I think I'll see what time Satain is going to be at the range and put a face to a name. I live in PoCo and the range is only 5mins from my place.

Satain, good to put a face to the posts. Your SU is even sweeter in person. That's one awesome trigger on it and the free floating foreend looks fantastic.

Silveragent glad you liked it.
A little FYI for all those SU16 owners out there. When seating the magazine into place make sure you slap it into place and then give it a light little tug to ensure that the magazine in installed properly into the rifle. Just like the same idea when loading the AR15 rifle's.
Then another thing to remeber with any semi-auto rifle with a charging handel. When the action is locked open. Pull the charging handel to the rear as far as it can go. Then release the charging handel. Do not ride the charing handel into battery.
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

@Satain, i know i looked like a moron getting ftf in your lovely SU but really I was just being too gentle with someone else's gun :) I don't get FTF with mine because I wack the hell out of it :) Hope to see you again

P@rick, if you were there in the morning that's why you didn't see me. I only became a member today so I showed up with all the rest of the day passers at 11 and then stood in the trailer for half an hour getting my membership worked up.

That would do it. I was out of ammo by 10:15. I only bring 200 with me and seeing as each mag load is 20rds, it goes through them fast. I never had this problem with my CZ. My Kel Tec must be malfunctioning!!

Ok I got the CASV foreend.. Now I'm trying to figure out.. what does that extra piece go. the half-ring piece that screws into something ..

also.. what am I supposed to cut to get it to fit flat? Is it one of the inner rings?

I left that extra half ring piece off and filed down the front 2 ribs a bit to have it sit flat. I will say that loctite on the screws that hold the rail to the quad guard is a def do. I also loctited the screws that hold the rails to the fore end.

Sounds like you're getting it done. We'll need some pics soon.

I got it flat now after filing the ribs down.. but the under guard isn't locking to the top part because of the slat underneath the barrel just underneath the barrel port of the receiver.

I can get it on if I just use one screw on the top rail.

I put on all this crap quickly but I'll have to take it apart because it's pretty wobbly so I need to tighten up the screws and get with the Loctite as you said.
