Kel-tec SU16

That looks decent. Are you able to get a proper cheek weld? Is there freedom to move the scope forward, if needed?
No problem with cheek weld for me, and the scope can be moved forward if required.
I'd like to try the ar type stock, as I find the stock setup a little uncomfortable at times.
The front sight is visible at low magnification.

There was a CGNer a while back that wanted to know if the SU16 with this rail could be folded. So here is your pic;
Please click here.
Sorry my photo viewer is making the pictures way to big for CGN.
Also for you that were wondering about how I use a scope set-up on my coyote killer here ya go ;)
Fixed Stock
Collapsible Stock
With the collapsible stock I got this other little attachment for the KelTec butt stock that allows me to carry the mag with the stock so I am compliant when hunting them yotes ;)

What is uncomfortable about the stock setup?

Yeah......I bet your getting sick of seeing my SU but I got some more updated pics from over Xmas. New MagPul AFG1, MagPul PRS stock and UBR stock. Also got a nice bore site to get all my optics in line so it shoots straight. Enjoy!!

^that looks bad a$$, very nice.

i keep mine simple and light .. and i keep all the goodies for an AR im building :) i think the true beauty of this rifle is in its unique features like forend/bipod and folding capability.. but thats just me.

Does anyone have any regrets they bought one? Anything you wish you knew before buying it? Does the $800 price tag reflect a cheaply made rifle?

i defiantly don't regret it, i like it a lot.. if your goal is to "Tacticool" the sh1t out of it, then you might be better of with AR, but if you would like to have a very light, foldable .223 rifle thats non restricted and can use AR mags then you will not regret it.

Cheers.

I like the looks of the Mini-14 better.
Magazine wise the su16 I favour.
Price wise, I favour the su16(barely).
Stock accuracy vs a new mini14, probably a draw.
The ability to make more accurate, the mini14 probably wins, barrel change, pillar bedding, ect. All at a price of course, but you can't change the barrel of the SU16 easily.

Only regret is I can't use an ar-15 for hunting.

Thanks, I appreciated the honest evaluations. A firearm doesn't have to be perfect to enjoy it. I'd just like to know what I might be getting into. I already have an AR-15, and would like something that isn't restricted to the range.

i bought one a few weeks back, but haven't gotten around to picking up a base and rings for the scope yet.

every time i pick it up, i really like the ergonomics and the stock is comfortable but leaves a lot to be desired, and it never "feels" like an $800(900 with taxes) rifle should.

it seems to feel like a 10/22 or a 597, but maybe that's just me, with that being said, i have no intention of selling it, as what else can you get that really compares :)

Couple questions that I've got conflicting answers on before...
are they stamped 5.56?
On other websites some have said you can't fold with the pistol grip while others have said you can, just not as well as the original stock...and what are your folded dimensions with the PISTOL GRIP when folded?
Thanks!
