I don't know how it started, but at our camp, the wives bring the kids up Friday after they are done school.
We have all hunted hard, and usually have filled most of the tags by then.
So Fri evening, and all day Saturday, the kids go hunting with us. They get to see what is hanging on the game pole, and where their favourite deer pies and sausages come from.
They get to hear the sound of the dogs run

, and love talking on the two ways to each other.
I have three young girls, and they all start asking, "Is it deer season yet Dad??",
in May!!
My best hunting memory to date is shooting two deer in full view of my oldest daughter when she was only 3. We were lucky, we got to watch them for about 5 minutes, they walked right up to us before I shot.
She doesn't remember, but I will never forget.
