Killed/hunted with your M14/M305/M1A ...

Just a gopher so far, he was a "buck" gopher though. I was watching this one for a whole season, when I finally caught him feeding. I stalked in on him and closed within 70yds, completely unaware of my presence I took aim, took it off safety..and sqeeeezed the trigger. One shot and he ran less than 1ft.

nice job not ruining the hind quarters :)

Here's the same M305 just prettier. This pic was taken today, it ran out from behind the 100 yd target stand......I had just finished zeroing!! So what better way to confirm, it was a perfect head shot. 155gr Sierra Palma Match, IMR 3031, IVI brass, Win. primer

HEY HEY... way to go Kam !! ;)
I bagged a nice big blackie yesterday mornin with my shorty m14 :D Looks just like yers but with a really light brown face/snout. I took mine at 175 yards on the busnell range finder. one shot with a 150gr federal vital shock... he flopped right over and rolled back onto his feet..... kinda tore off in a circle then dropped about 10 feet from where i hit em. no pics yet

I'm hopefully going to try my luck and shoooost a narwhal with my Springfield M1A this week in Repulse Bay(Naujaat) as the season is open and I'm going there for work ... hope I get out on a boat ... :D

Even though your address is Canada, it is a different world than mine. Narwal, Polar Bears and Muskox. WOW!!! Although you may be blown away that we southerners could be hunting for deer, moose, elk, bear, lynx, bobcat, cougar, grouse, bunnies, and say wolverine all in one walk through the woods.

our hunting pales in comparison. the only thing we have that can really hurt you is the wild Boars. you guys get bears n big cats ! .. although theres a mythical panther somewhere south of where i live.. and apparently 1x moose down in the south island ! haha

No luck in Repulse Bay due to high winds and not being able to go on a boat to hunt Narwhale. However, there is a barrenland Grizz reaping havoc on our communities cabins and tent frames just outside our town all summer long ... i went looking for him last night with my Springfield M1A and my M1 Garand ... ;) Found tracks, no bear ... long weekend here ... going outland again ... :D

p.s. it got a little weird and spooking as the sunlight went away ... went home when it got pitch black ... even with my ATV headlights and a spotlight ... I was going home ... HAHA ... DOH! :D ;)

If you get the grizz Otokiak, post the pics.

Have you ever shot your Garand and M1A in very cold days? Curious. If so, how do they function, accuracy and reliabilty wise?

Holly Crap. Those bears will track you for days. What the hell were you thinking

That was my girlfriend responding to the pics I showed her of the polar bear chasing the photographer around the truck.....

ton45-II I went hunting in March and shot my 1st Umingmak(muskox) and it was probably -30 celsius or colder ... I clean my rifles almost completely of their grease/oil ... the springfields work fine ... my Norinco M305 failed on me ... still haven't brought it out again ;)
