Killing raccoons in the city - Toronto

never seen a racoon around here, we have had chickens out at the ranch for years and never a problem with racoons.

coyotes and the odd hawk have taken a few birds.

I suspect in time they will end up hitching rides on trucks and get established.

They are funny that way. We had chickens on a Ranch off the South fence at CFB Suffield...nary a one at the place.
Seen a Family of them in the hills above Seven Person's one night about 1993.
Never saw any on the place I'm on til about 2010.
Outa the blue we've put about 4 down in the last few years.

No racoons? I live in the middle of the prairies and we have them. Seen a dead one turned into an organic Frisbee on the #1 by Suffield when I was but a pup. Suffield...like K-rat territory... semi arid desert IIRC.
Respectfully, they are likely around somewhere. They are like cockroaches. I have a clutch of free range chickens...I hate racoons, lol.

News showed one in downtown Calgary a few weeks ago. buddy shot one at Cremona. They're here, just not obvious.

I'd have capped the lot in a heartbeat... but then I'm not as lucky as you, lol.
